Nottingham Forest academy player dies in police custody


Reports suggest that Reece Staples, a 19-year-old Forest youth team and reserve player, has died in police custody after being arrested last night.
“An investigation into the death of Reece Staples at Nottingham’s Oxclose Lane police station has been launched by the Independent Police Complaints Commission,” say the Evening Post.

Heard about this early yesterday evening from someone that knows him, Apparently police were called to a young man damaging a car, Reece was arrested and detained at Oxclose Lane, Later that evening he became unwell and police called for an ambulance, but he died on the way to QMC, heard that "Something had popped in his stomach" ....thats what i was told.
R.I.P Young Man.

He used to get the tram to training with all his Forest gear on. I saw him on there nearly every morning for a while and saw his initials RS on his training gear. Checked on the Forest site who he was and always had half an eye on his progress.

It's a waste of life and talent. Why was a talented young lad with two kids out in the early hours of the morning getting arrested?

Young footballers who never quite make it I guess are quite likely to go off the rails. They probably don't bother too much with school because they think they are going to be a footballer and therefore have nothing to fall back on if it dosen't work out.
