he would be a somewhat useless drain of resources that QPR are unfortunate to be paying absurd amounts of money.

Bloody good writing that. We should sign him up LTLF, he can write for us every week! On loan maybe?
;D

Preston did not allow NED to join Billy during derby's promotion year , he was put on gardening leave i think. He only joined up after derby got promoted , but he lasted like only a few months before he and the rest of Billy's gang left derby. Huge payout from what i read costing derby a couple of millions in total paying off all the staffs that left.

Interesting that he describes trhe Lower Bridgford as 'quite intimidating' I would have thought it was the opposite being a completely separate enclosure.

I take it you didn't go to the away game at QPR?

Camp was getting sung to by their fans so much he was waving and when Dexter came on, I'm pretty sure they cheered him more than we did!

Morning Gents, i haven't posted around here for a while. Frankly you've not needed the distraction and for an R's fan the season ended at the start of December.
Loft for words is a very good site, we have two or three where you can stay in touch and not descend into childish shouting. The article, i think, reflects the very temperate mood amongst r's fans. We are resigned to being a laughing stock for as long as the current owners are around, not that we don't also accept that we probably wouldn't exist without them.
Although we are only 4 points from the play offs most folk i talk to are thinking more about the 18 or 19 points we need to survive. I wouldn't be surprised if Mick Harford feels the same way. Oh for a dour nil-nil!
For a period of seven games or so we played like Arsenal (albeit with Darlington's back 5) but those days have long gone.
Chief architects Buszacky and Taarabt have imploded and taken a manager out each! Buszacky at his best is as good as any player i've ever seen in hoops, sadly he looks bored, uninterested and waiting for the exit. Taarabt is a nutter and doesn't give a toss about anyone but himself.
I've sat through many of the 3 and 4 nil drubbings and won't be surprised if it happens again.
I certainly won't be booing Lovejoy or the joy of Dex, blackstock was a huge mistake and an indication of how our board operates. Camp might attract some attention, not for the wave, more the way he threw the game in last years encounter. He's never been one to dominate his area, but that was very suspicious.
And will the Qwoshter play. I'm told his legs have gone and we shouldn't expect more than 5 0r 6 games from him. I imagine he'll be half the player was for us and twice the player he was for you.
I won't wish you luck, i reckon you'll enjoy tonight more than me.

Thanks for that. Nice to hear a view from the other side that isn't all hostile taunting!

I've got a very good friend who supports QPR and he uses the Loft for Words site actually. He echoes what you're saying and has almost lost faith in the club's current state and only his deep-rooted love of QPR keeps him going.

It's a sorry state of affairs and I wish you all the best (although only from tomorrow onwards).

Quick question, though - do you think Buzsaky will excell elswhere or do you think he's about done now? I'd love to see him in a Forest shirt, but that is based on what I've seen of him in the past.

Very well written article and a great read. Nice to see opposition fans knowing so much about the club ;D

What does everyone think about this whole "QPR are going to have to win at CG someday, and Forest won't stay unbeaten forever" ??

Personally I have to say as the fixtures come flying by I am getting increasingly worried, with every game that passes, that we are going to slip up in the near future, even if it's only a 1 game slip up... am just praying it's not against Derby or Leicester.

I remain optimistic of a top 4 finish nonetheless :-*

What a nice worry to have though: "Shit, we might lose for the first time in 4 months!"

Makes a change from last years worry of returning to Bruton Park on a lovely Tuesday night in December again.

Marvellous. :) Thinking about it, neither of them really left the club on bad terms.

Capable lad, I'd sooner he stayed with you, no offence. We don't need the Geordies bringing in anyone who might halt their slide.

That's a cracking article though.

Well there you go, 5! and frankly it could've been worse. Our mom was Anderson who saved us from a bigger scoreline.
I've only seen one team play better this season and that was us 3 long months ago. The most impressive thing is how simple it is. There was nothing fancy about Forest last night, it was all about playing the right ball at the right time and working as hard as you can. It won't be this easy every week but this is a very poor quality league and Forest have exactly the right attitude and application.
I wouldn't be surprised if you went up as champions, My brother in law's a Newcastle season ticket holder and he's been bemoaning Newcastle's football all season (mind you, Routledge is a very good signing) and West Brom are really inconsistent. Nobody else is worth worrying about.
I saw Billy Davis' Derby team twice the year they went up, they easily beat us two nil at our place with a performance that was similar to last night. Tommy Smith killed us with his movement. By the time we went to Pride Park in April, despite us being out of form and staring relegation in the face, they were a shambles, all the confidence, pace and incisive passing had gone. hey scraped into the play offs and scraped into the premier league and the rest is history.
You've got better players i think and Davis must have learnt something from the experience, but it is something to guard against. I'd like to think that behind all the 'one game at a time' guff that managers trot out he's already thinking about possible recruits. I'd say two proper premier league centre halves (think Dunne not Lescott) and someone to replace Mckenna, who is easily your most important player and you've got a real solid starting point.
I won't be sorry to be losing my easiest away game. I'm just hoping we won't be replacing it with a trip to County next season, i suspect we might need someone else to go into administration though.
You won't need it, but good luck for the rest of the season

Thank you Qwoshy, my colleague is a big QPR fan and was rather dispondent today. Naturally I've not rubbed the scoreline in too much... :)

Best of luck for the season, you'll be ok though :)

Well, we've got the McKenna cover in Moussi, who would, we think, adapt well to the top flight. Perch can understudy him in that position with the right coaching (which he's getting) so I'd sooner see three or four defenders come in than another defensive midfielder. Maybe if one of our centre backs can move forward a position in times of need, we'd be alright. That said Birmingham didn't make much impression on our backline and that wasn't always at full strength over those two matches.

As for QPR - fshipping five will highlight weak points the manager can address directly, at least.
