Does this even matter? Notts went up automatic, and they're probably getting all big for their britches (again) about it. Is going up to the Prem and eclipsing their achievement important? Does it add incentive?

For me, I think it is, I know one or two County fans (must be nearly all of them lol), and it'd be nice to be able to tell them they've achieved f*** all. The flip side of this is that if we flop it, they'll be in gob shite mode and happy to tell us about their promotion and how we f**ked ours up.

I don't care. How many years has it been now that County have been in the bottom tier of English professional football? I'm not sure of the specifics, but I'd hazard a guess that it's going on 10 years.

What really do they have to shout about? They're a joke. They wouldn't even be in this position had it not been for the magical mystery Munto tour bus making a stop by meadow lane over the summer. Let's see them try and maintain this kind of progress without the millions that they had put under their noses and then swiftly pulled away again.

We only have to win three games and we've already eclipsed everything Notts have achieved both on the pitch and financially. (and even without play-off success, nobody would be insane enough to suggest that there's a new number 1 team in Nott'm!)

It's a no brainer. We should be above allowing them to wind us up. Just a pat on the head and an "off you go and play nice now" will suffice.

Oh, and to directly answer the question: No. They're already in their place.

i have no problem about notts as a club, but it's their fans, utter fools the lot of them. i've been rooting for them to get promotion, will they do it in return? will they fook.

i dont see how us getting promotion is getting one over Notts anyway - its not like they are in the play-offs with us...

Let them have their fun, its not like they really register on our radars is it... and it took them long enough to get to the dizzy heights of the third tier

I keep telling them their best moment of late is the same as our worst, League f***ing One.

Still, I do think that its an added incentive to want promotion, on the season they claw their way out of the 4th tier and think they might go some way to catching up with us, we get back to the top flight.

When I see comments from their fans like "I hope I don't have to wait another 12 years to see another championship win", and "I think we can go straight up again next season", I wonder whether they have actually took any notice at what has been happening at their club this season. They should be ecstatic at what they've achieved and look to build from here.

Local companies still haven't been paid what they are owed, so for their chairman to be spouting off about having a top six budget for next season, seems wrong to me.

It would ruin their season lol

Well, I suppose most of the people who are voting "no" don't have to deal with Notts fans as friends/colleagues, which is understandable and odds on because there aren't many of them lol

Like to see them as a team do well but their fans mostly the new generation are bitter twisted arseholes who are obsessed with us and seeing us lose.

I think the response in the City Ground when Notts scores are announced shows what people think;

If they're winning, they get a very tired "yehhh" from a limited number of fans.
If they're losing, they get a very tired "yehhh" from a limited number of fans.

The other 20,000+ pay more attention to their rank hot dog.

I want County to do well, but not too well.

Putting Notts "back in the shadow"?

Did they ever come out of that shadow?

Not really, but they might have had a little peak from under there, and it'd be nice if their prying eyes were met with a poke in the form of a play off victory leading to the Prem for their hated neighbours. :spankarse:
