Was discussing this with Flagman and Lee last night, and it was thought likely that those of us not making the trip the Wales should probably make an effort to get together and have a day of drinking.
There's a few things to consider, though.
Firstly, it's a 5 o'clock kick off on Sunday, so it will clash, or at least the first half will, with 'Super Sunday' . some pubs, as disgraceful as it seems, will be giving a priority to the Birmingham vs Man City or some other such drabness,
Something else to consider would be the Speakeasy Quiz, and perhaps the chance for one or two who haven't made it down to the quiz to join us there post match.
Southbank will probably be the liveliest, and certainly the loudest.
The Horn in Hand provides a perfect synergy with the Speakeasy quiz, but unfortunately as it is a student pub it doesn't have a majority Nottingham-centric drinking crowd, and as such has, in the past, pandered to the Premiership over Forest. It's cheap, though, beer and burger £3.50 and all that malarky. Downsides would be lack of seating.
The Hawksley was a cracking place to watch the game in the past, but it's a tad out of the way, and doesn't require too many people in there to make it seem too crowded. We got lucky for the match last year as Mark and I were there before they even opened.
As the game is on BBC, Amici might be showing it (get Sky in your bar you pikey f***ers). We could give them the opportunity to not let us in again. Twunts.
Hooters. Norks.
stag parties
TBI could be fun. If your idea of fun is not really having any.
And finally, my preference, The Globe. They've been pretty good to the associated LTLF masses, so personally think it's a bit poor form to watch a match on the box, in a pub, and not go to the Globe. Cassie might even make us some chips. Obviously parking for those who want to drive and all the other shenanigan that makes a matchday a matchday for us. Then it's either a not too shabby walk, or a short bus ride into town for the Speakeasy quiz.
So, where's it to be?
I think I know the answer, but lets put it to the vote. (The vote doesn't actually mean anything, as I doubt most of those wo vote will be coming to the pub for the game).
Would be grand to get a sizeable crowd down from here to watch.
