End of December is a bit shit though, away to Man Ure then away to the Geordies. Might have considered a visit and taking in a game, but nothing helps there, and it’s two long away treks for most Nottingham based fans.
How many times have we played Man U and/or Newcastle around Christmas? Remember this in the early Nuno days as well

Quite a lot. I thought that too.

Actually looking for to a Saturday 3pm game first game on the season.

Watching SSN this morning I thought they had already sorted the opening weekend. We play at 3pm on Saturday, Arsenal on Friday night.

Edit: sorry, this has already been posted I see. I'm currently distracted by an enormous ad for golfing membership that I can't seem to get rid of. Just gone and some agency are very proudly telling me how clever they are, now it's back.

Coventry were always going to get a Sky 6 side first up. It happens every season as Sky fix it so. There will also be at least one weekend throughout the season where Liverpool play United, Arsenal play Spurs and Celtic play Rangers all very conveniently around the same time.

As for us, Leeds at home first up could've been a lot worse and I don't see any particular months that stand out as being awful.

Seen it mentioned by 2 different sources now.

I'll be in Nottingham on August 29 and 30, that's when GW2 is. I was so hoping for a home game, it's my b'day and I've never been to the WFCG. :(
Ah, bad luck, Uptight. That's an unlucky outcome.

The ice hockey fixture computer is always considerate to Panthers and Squealers fans at Christmas. We play them every single Boxing Day.

Pity the PL one is so biased towards the Cartel clubs. 😠

The ‘super computer’ supposedly has Forest to finish fourth from bottom this coming season. How ridiculous
Forest minus Anderson should be clear of the 3 promoted teams and a good chance of finishing ahead of Palace, Brentford (Euro games) maybe Sunderland for the same reason. Fulham with a new manager is anyone’s guess. If we invest well we should do better than predicted.

Fixtures have nothing to do with Sky.

The reason a newly promoted side usually get a top six side is because the fixture list has a template which doesn't change all that much from season to season, so if you lose a team to relegation (who typically were newly promoted the season prior) then the easiest thing to do is to put a newly promoted side in their fixture slot.

It's why you see repetition everywhere. Playing Bournemouth at home early on in the season lots. Playing Derby in early December was a given.

I've had the pleasure of seeing how the fixture list gets done and it's an absolutely mammoth task that takes months on end of fine-tuning so you'll always see these re-occurring patterns across every team, it's just to keep the process easy and stick to what is likely to be a top 10% preferred schedule (accounting for all the police/FA/clubs requests, aim of the game is to hit as many of those as possible whilst not creating any no'no's (like Man City and Man Utd at home on same day)).

The toughest runs in the season are.
GW 2 - GW 4 - Liverpool, Spurs, Villa
GW 10 - GW 12 - City, Bournemouth, Chelsea
GW 17- GW 18 - United, Newcastle
GW 21- GW 23 - City, Bournemouth, Chelsea
GW 26- GW 30 - United, Everton, Newcastle, Spurs, Villa

Saturday 3pm v Leeds on day 1 will bring to an end our long run of consecutive matches (39, I think) shown live on TV in the UK.

Damn. I guess I'll just have to watch the game in a pub then. 😟 At least we could keep winning at Anfield. It would be a nice birthday gift.

Presumably
Sunderland v Forest - Moved to Sunday 13th Decemeber
Forest v Bournemouth - Moved to Sunday 24th January - This is it, this is the one we win.

Yeah; hopefully they'll have had an away game on the Thursday in somewhere like Azerbaijan...

Though on the downside - it means Forest will be live on TV a lot less, and so these without season ticket / can't get to many games; will miss out on watching them!

Plus probly mean: be more of a demand tickets again...

The teams that weren't in Europe last season got a lot of Monday night games.
