Pre season starts today

Burns: I don't envy Forest's pre-season hell


NOTTINGHAM Forest players were reporting back for pre-season training today and I have to admit, it wasn't my favourite time of the year.
All the training had to be done but not playing matches wasn't great, so I know what the Forest lads will be going through for next few weeks.
But, in Forest, I really believe they have a side that has what it takes to mount a serious promotion challenge again next season.
For long periods last year they were challenging and there is no reason why this time round won't be much of the same.
Manager Billy Davies just needs to bring a couple of players into the squad to freshen things up.


One thing they really need is a left-back to come in.
I would love to see Nicky Shorey come back if Forest can afford him.
He was brilliant last time and was a calming influence at the back.
He was comfortable on the ball and got them going forward from the back.
He would add class to an already good back-line but I am not sure whether the money is there to sign him.
The transfer committee will have the final say on the deals but I am not sure what they do?
Everyone can see we need a left-back but them.
If it was up to me, transfer targets would be left up to Davies and he would have a discussion with the chairman about how they were going to go about signing them.
But at the moment there seems to be too many people involved in the process and I hope it doesn't mean Forest miss out on their targets.

They appear to have taken pics of most of the players linked with transfer rumours (Tyson, Lynch, Garner, Wilson).

The welsh lads aren't due back yet because of international games in the summer.
 
hopefully they will put a video up on forest player of the training
