Pre season in Portugal

Forest will be doing another pre-season in Portugal this year for those who like to combine a holiday with watching Forest

Different base than last year with at least one match possibly two to be scheduled in

Not got the exact date yet

Seeing as you are posting about pre season games...

I've heard that Forest off up to Scotland and are to play Rangers, no date as yet.

6 of us went to Portugal last year.

Had a great time, and have decided to book a cheap lads week away there for this year!

Could be a right bonus to see Forest out there again!!! Knowing our look it'll be on the date we return!

If it's true this is great news, I really wanted to go last year but couldn't get my hands on enough money to make the trip as it was abit too short notice for me, but for me this is perfect timing to announce the tour!

not sure who the OP is or who their sauce is but I heard the same thing the other week from a mate who's got some very reliable contacts within the club.

Really hope your right!! Since our trip out there last season, I've been thinking that surely we'll be playing Sporting in Albuferia again for the throphy we won?

Don't suppose your source mentioned any dates did he?

no dates not confirmed as yet but the club are trying to get things confirmed ASAP to get the details out with as much prior warning for us to get flights and accommodation booked as possible

I'd imagine dates will depend on a number of things.

Whether we're in the Prem or Champ.

Whether we get to the play off final.

What dates our superstar signings get back from the World Cup.

Portugal 2010 IS definitely happening, that's all we know, a lot has been said to the club over the late announcement of last years game, especially as people need to save, have already booked holidays for the same period, and in some cases cannot get their shifts changed for the summer at such short notice. Can I urge anybody who is interested in going this year to e-mail the club with your concerns a.s.a.p.

The wife has said I can go so I'm not going to turn down an opportunity like that in a hurry!

I have a source who works at the ground - can't be more specific or they wouldn't work there any more !

Forest themselves are currently planning on staying in a different area however than last year - I agree with another poster above - best thing to do is contact the club as I don't want to be blamed for cocking up everybody's holiday plans - as such any matches arranged may also be in a different part of Portugal to last year

I've been told they are looking at the same training camp and resort.

And that was the problem last year for most, the game was announced on May 28th 2009, 6 weeks and 3 days notice wasn't enough, okay for some, yeah, but I know of no end of people that would have liked to have gone last year but time wise and money wise it just wasn't viable.

I believe that was for the training camp after they stayed in Albufeira for the Lisbon game.

Anything less than Albufeira will not be acceptable lol

Vale de Lobo is about 40 minutes down the coast from Albufeira.

So I'd imagine the team will be based there and travel to Albufeira for the match.

Now, if only I could convince the missus that the Algarve IS the right place to go for a week - we have actually discussed it already.

Do you think I could persuade her and then when we get there go "oh, what are the chances. Forest are here!" ??

That was where their training camp was last year, they stayed in Albufeira for a few nights for the Sporting game then travelled over to Vale de Lobo on the Monday.

Well we were in Albufeira in September when my missus turned round to me and said "are we coming next year if Forest come back?"

Now bearing in mind she saw the state of me when I got back form last season's weekender, and the subsequent pics and videos, to say I was surprised was an understatement, but not wanting to be one to look a gift horse in the mouth......lol

She doesn't know about Forest possibly being there. We just talked about it being a possible holiday destination...

I'm seriously considering going with the shock at Forest being there.
