Pre-Brum Thoughts….

OK its Wednesday, the weathers fine, and I really should be getting some work done. Saturdays game is very much the only thing on my mind though at the moment. I feel that this game could be pivotal and determine if we will really be in a ‘battle’ to stay up or finish in mid table medicority, the latter being the ideal scenario. Since the arrival of Billy Davis I have felt much more confident about our Championship status, and together with a fantastic run of results we have clawed ourselves to a respectable league position. When the fixture list was published, February was always going to be a tough month, a month in which every point we gain would count, and now we have graced this ‘tough month’, the reality has now dawned on me. The fight and passion shown by our young squad on Saturday will have to be replicated against Birmingham, the same passion we shown to turn over Sheffield Wednesday at home. For once in a few weeks we finally have some good news, the deadly partnership of Tyson and Earnshaw should be re-united, with Tysons stiches being removed Thursday and Earnie recovering from a hamstring strain. I feel that a good start is essential on Saturday, set out our stall and battle for everything. Closing the opposition will be of highest priority, this wasn’t done so well against Derby, giving Commons the freedom of the pitch. Our previous encounter against Brum was one of the best home performances I have seen this season, and I can’t see why we cant go to their place and turn them over. Some may think im crazy but if the players can get into the right frame of mind, I think there might be a shock on the cards Saturday.

Wont be that much of a shock trust me! My brother (who is a blues season ticket holder) cannot believe they are still third; they are shocking. Teams like blackpool , and coventry have beaten them there for example this season.
Add the fact that they have let go of their right back stephen kelly and replaced him with the one and only djimitri traore PLUS the fact that karren brady has been arrested AGAIN; it means that if we get a good positive start their fans will be on their backs right from the off..
Their attendances have been dreadful too - averaging about 15,000 due to the supporters being sick of the board there...

Its all well and good their fans saying they can't believe how well they are doing, but we have a major injury crisis at present. It's gonna be twice as bad for us. Hope against hope we get 3 points.

This game doesn't matter a jot to how our season ends.

Results against the teams around us near the bottom will shape our season.

Expecting a 3-0 loss on Saturday.

Generally, I just try to relax, think happy thoughts and remind myself it will be all over soon.

Oh, pre-Brum thoughts. Sorry.

We've not got many left though have we, only Derby, Watford, Barnsley & Southampton. We have to get points against the better sides if we're going to survive.

And if we win all those four we'll be safe.

Yes but chances are we won't win them all. We do have to get a couple of results against the better sides too.

dont see why we carnt win vs derby , barnsely southanmpton and watford.. all near bottom... and at home so. 12 points would be nice :)

Watford and Barnsley are away.

12 points would be nice but is also unlikely - no matter how rose tinted your spectacles are. Derby are not a bad side and the others are all fighting for their lives.

7+ points would be an excellent return and 6 would be sufficient. Any less and we are in trouble.

the TO is open until 8pm on a Fri evening so could you get them after work Friday?

I think they take the tickets off sale about lunchtime Fri so you'd have to ring them tomorrow but then just ask them to hold them until you can collect them. They'll put them in an envolope in the back till you can get there.

I'm sitting in the home end cos I got a freebie from my aunt.Birmingham would be in our position if it wasn't for Kevin Phillips this season, they are shocking, they will find it difficult to deal with our pace saturday I'm pretty sure.

how about a childrens tv show? like a hero car, maybe a scale model of a austin 7? could also be set in birmingham?
in all honesty how do you expect us to know what the creaters of this spectacle (of television greatness) were thinking when they had such a great idea ?
