Without mentioning the politics of hillsborough, does anyone else think theirs not enough made of the fact that we were denied a place in europe by the scouse b'stards? Could it have made a really big difference to us as a club?

A huge difference.

/edit let us not forget though that the FA pulled all English teams out of Europe, as opposed to Uefa or Fifa banning us. I'd love to know who was on the FA board at the time and where their loyalties lay clubwise, because surely the international bodies would ban Liverpool, and let the other teams continue to compete.

Didn't know that.
Would we all of been punished if it was left to UEFA?

time and time again denied this is one of my main reasons for hating them, but as soon as the ban runs out...guess who is there every year.

in my book, for every time they qualify, another team that missed out because of actions of their fans should be given the spot, why we had to miss out because of them, really grinds my gears...people have missed out on a lot because of the shitty shitty f***ing SHITTY CLUB !!! arghh...sorry rant over, and now.....hernia

Not often I feel sorry for Norwich (it won't happen again!!) - but I remember in '85 they were going for broke in the League Cup. They went all out to win it - and did so, but got relegated in the process.

Then the Heysel Stadium - incident - happened and they were denied their Cup Winners' Cup place thanks to the actions of the cheeky chirpy lovable Scouse scamps....UEFA banned English clubs from European competition summarily, and shafted Naarwich badly.

Might be wrong here but wasn't it everton who suffered the most from the ban. There used a be a real hard everton nutter living across from me in spain and he said that made the rivarl between the two clubs even worse.

id say we suffered a fair bit !!, i remember going to Wembley and winning cup after cup each season that would have fair seen us in to Europe every year im certain.. alas my only trip was when frank clark was in charge, I was lucky enough to go to Lyon and Auxerre and then sadly see us get dicked by Munich :(
