Poor decision?

I know some people think part of the problem at the CG is a lack of strength upfront.

He was sometimes quite lazy.. but also sometimes a different class.

Should we have kept Junior Agogo? He isn't the tallest of players but certainly well built and very strong. IMO he'd have been a perfect or as close to perfect as you can get partner for Earnie.

I realise im probably going to get slated for posting this thread..

EDIT: from El Zamalek's "English" website: http://www.zamalek-sc.com/

15-2-09: "De castel assured me that the team is enhancing day by day, and the results will begin to improve during the next phase. De castel insisted to the exclusion of some players from Zamalek squad, saying "They should first commitment in training."
The Ghanaian Junior Agogo, was first player off according to not attending the trainings on time , Castal believe that Sheriff Ashraf and Kofi . must take the full chance in the coming matches"

Guess I just answered my own question..

To be fair, although we've had scares and weaknesses at the front end during the season our main failings have been defensively related. I don't really think releasing Agogo has had a negative effect.

Even the board of directors have confessed that they believed our League 1 defence would stand up to the batterings of the Championship which it clearly hasn't.

Strengthening this area has been slow and painful and, as we may find out to our peril, sadly too late.

Agogo was certainly in a different class at time's to being lazy, he also studied in the class for Bone Idle.

As I have said a few times, being lazy as a striker doesn't always mean a bad thing. I recall in the day a lot of people calling Stan lazy, but who wouldn't give their left nut for a "lazy" striker like him right now? Plus how many times was it said that Linekar never made it out of the 6 yard box? Or the same said for Shearer?

That's not to say Agogo is anywhere near that quality, but just trying to make a point. Lazy and striker can go together.
