This was worth listening to just to find out that apparently after Nigel Clough got sacked by Derby and went to Burton he got a new dog and called it Bobby after Bobby Zamora [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Jamie did come across like he was in football for the money and it owed him a living.
But then he ended by bragging about his Saudi timeshare investments so maybe he's just all about the $$$ full stop.
Bobby the dog was the only real highlight.
Seems like a nice bloke with no axe to grind

At least if he was in it for the money, the one thing you couldn't really accuse him of was lack of effort. He always put a shift in.

The team he is currently playing for is mental! They are in the UAE second division & have playing for them:

Joel Lynch
Harry Arter
Ravel Morrison

Amongst a few other British journeymen.

There is also a team in the same division called Fleetwood United which is owned by the guy that owned Fleetwood Town & got jailed for fraud!

I understand it's his living now but I'm really not sure Matt needs the daily content at the moment, even for a club like ours where there's seemingly never a slow news day.

Example question in the podcast I had on earlier was to Emily asking whether Anderson 'looked tired' in the u21 games, followed by a scouting report on Harvey Elliott and James McAtee. Real scraping the barrel stuff.

I know he reads this forum so Matt, get yourself a beer and chill out for a few weeks mucka. Your subscribers will still be there in July!

I don't mind the constant content, and think he's doing superbly to fill the monotonous pre season gap.

Interesting pod this week with the France based journo around Lyon, our transfers there and Textor.

Yes he's dragging some of it out like the fixtures reaction show but I'd rather that than nothing at all.

Probably a decent time to grab new members while the other Forest pods are quiet.

The good thing about podcasts is that you can either do other things while listening or not listen if you don't fancy it. I think FF is doing pretty well with no new info around. The lyon guy, Toffolo, Percy all had interesting stuff to say. Pete does look thoroughly disinterested in everything (which makes it funnier when he's asked to speculate about anything). And he also looks like he's in either a sauna or a weed shop, so hazy is his room. Birtles bingo still entertains the masses and the bonus line of Temps buzzwords makes up for the charisma void that is mcgugan. Let the man cook

I'm glad Matt binned off that Arsher Ali, he was a megatwat.

I still can't listen to the young American lass he has on, as lovely as she is, her knowledge is fingers down a chalk board excruciating.

I do find exactly the same amusement in the other stuff you mentioned, although Birtles is wearing very thin on me now. Matt could do with find a McGugan replacement too, he's a really tough listen. Apparently paint watches McGugan dry.

Steve Hodge would be really good as a regular contributer if he could get him.

To be fair to Lewis his analysis is usually pretty decent and he makes some really good points, but he's no Richard Burton that's for sure

I’d imagine there’s YouTube and podcast economics to observe - keeping up a like and viewing rate etc. His numbers will no doubt tell him if there’s mileage in cracking on over the summer at the pace he’s going.

I don’t mind it, and am listening to all of it. I’m consuming 10% of the football content I was a month ago (thank God) so 30 mins here or there is just fine for me.

Gaz tries to keep away from that kind of stuff really. He knows he's only telling a story but he's very aware of it being seen as glorifying that scene. He does a hell of a lot of stuff with Carlton Town now and I don't think he wants his son to be known as Boatsey the hooligans dad. He's a completely changed character now

I do agree though, it's an interesting story. I think the last one he did was James English and he understandably downplayed everything.

On the subject of him, you might remember a viral clip of a goalkeeper scoring in the last few seconds of a cup game from his own half, that was Gaz's lad Charlie. They went on soccer am the following week. It's Gaz you can hear whilst filming it here.

Matt should be using the off seasons to throw in some new guests

I'll be honest I haven't listened to any of the off season pods, there is very little to talk about so it's just gonna be hyper analysis & with some of the guests you know what they are gonna say anyway.

3+ pods a week still is a bit overkill, but I am not going to argue with the people saying you don't have to watch/listen as it's true. But people aren't going to stop listening if he takes a few weeks break which is what Matt seems to have said, I would argue they are more likely to stop listening if the pods become tedious.

Yeah i know he's completely changed and was kind of the angle I meant how his relationship has changed with the club over the years as you now see him at games just as a dad with his son rather than the old stories that you can find in books anyway.

I do remember that goal actually and did have no idea it was his son thats ace

Someone like myself who lives miles away from the heart of the action, I’m always looking for forest content and I can’t get enough of it. I’ll put on FF in the morning on my way to work. It’s a great way to start the day.

So for me personally, keep the content coming FF.
