I agree with all the comments re Hodgey, he is by the far the best co-commentator there is, I love him. Always a pleasure when he is on and I get a little more excited when it's him and not Laws/Perch. Hodgey does have a strange obsession with players heights though but I will happily take him reeling off how tall a player is over the others anyday.

Totally agree, Hodge has real insight and is tactically aware and bang on with his analysis. Has that greater depth of the battles and tactics that are on the pitch and often predicts the outcomes and how forest can get at opponents-great to listen to.

I was on TV in Chicago once, quite by accident.

One of the TV stations had this camera fixed on the lake and specifically one of those sort of curving breakwaters and they would go to one of these shots for a run in to ad breaks. I was training for my marathon run and our hotel wasn't that far from the water, so for my morning run I ran in that direction and round the shoreline and onto the breakwater thing, just for a change. Later one of the crew said they saw me running, though I have to say, in all honesty, that my style was stumbling rather than gracefully flowing strides.

Steve Hodge is a bona fide Forest legend and a genuinely decent bloke. And I’d pay good money to hear him and Colin Fray reading the shipping forecast, let alone Forest commentary.

Slowed down and freeze framed the Wood goal looks a lot more difficult, then I first thought and backed up in that video where it stays XG has it as a 16% chance of scoring. Brilliant finish calm, composed!

Good video, although I really dislike some of the people presenting it.
Goes into tactics, Ryan Yates gets his own section, almost like it was written by a fan at times.
Few times now I’ve heard all about zone 14. Football intelligentsia - what a buzz-kill. Happy enough with Colin Fray’s inside right and left channel.

The assumption from these folks remains that there’s one way to succeed at football and the league will figure us out and correct our course soon enough. I hope, for football as much as Forest, that that’s not the case.

They also assume that ‘sensible forest fans’ will recognise the wisdom in pursuing a Brighton model and obediently flogging our best players on the regular. That’s mid table, running-to-stand-still Brighton Hove Albion. Unquestionably ‘well run’ Brighton, but very much compliant with the natural order of things. I hold out hope that Marinakis sees a different model, where (for the most part) we retain our best and we get better each year. And the natural order can fook off. That’s how he operated over the summer and long may it continue.

Bollocks to Brighton and bollocks to trying to out tiki taka the established money in this division.

You can see in parts of the video what orthodoxy does to logic when it comes to things like football tactics.

They're making all the right points about how we play but they just can't bring themselves to admit that its an antidote to the shite possession pass-it-out-from-the-back football infecting the game.

Here's a nice video.
The guy is speaking Portuguese so you have to put subtitles on and then in the settings autotranslate to English.

Or if you know Portuguese just translate it to English in your head I guess.
