I know this has been debated in so many different threads and ways BUT yesterday was another example of how Camp has made the difference.

Camp made 3 good saves yesterday which last season one would have gone in and we would have drawn.

With 12 games left he surely gives us the confidence to strive on.

I think after Camp, Wes is the next most improved player, yesterday very Un-Wes at times as he seemed to be between thoughts when on the ball.

McKenna I feel needs a rest as he has only missed one game this season (the FA Cup replay) and I feel he will be much calmer on the ball. Again he has had a massive impact I think more so off the pitch.

Then after that Cohen, Rady, Dex all have been the difference.......

It really is hard to find the player that has made the most difference as there is many but with all the clean sheets Camp surely stands out for me.

Anybody else agree????

How do you know one would've gone in last season?

Camp did play well though, and has been doing of late - aside from being in a stupid position for when Doncaster scored against us.

Personally I think Gunter has been our best player this season. An engine as good as Cohens and scares defenders when he gets forward. Also solid at the back, a very very good signing and still only young.

McKenna has made the biggest team impact for me, because we've not had someone to do that job for a long time.

Camp has made the biggest difference, not only for being the fantastic keeper he is and being largely responsible for keeping the clean sheets he has done but for the confidence and inspiration he has been the rest of the defence.

We have one of the best defensive records in the league and whilst the back four have been superb in most games, he is the one largely responsible in my opinion.

But McKenna, Morgan, Wilson, Cohen, Anderson, Blackstock and Earnshaw have all made fantastic contributions as well this season.

I would say that without camp and anderson we'd be doing nowhere near as well.

For me McKenna has been too up and down this season, he was AWFUL against Derby.

When McKenna just plays simple passes he has a fantastic influence on the team. It's when he starts his hollywood passes which he can't pull off, is when it falls apart.

Agreed.

Camp would be my player of the season but McKenna's influence has far more impact on the team as a whole.

I'd say its between Camp and McKenna, but not for their footballing ability.

Both have seemed to install an air of authority and calmness in our play. We've been so much better on the ball when in possession this year than last.
Also, even when we're not playing well we still don't look like we're going to concede.

A lot of these players - Cohen, Earnshaw, Morgan, Wilson, Anderson etc played last season. All of them have improved to fit into a well drilled unit.

not the players, the manager has made the difference in how the players are coached. This in my opinion is the real difference now.

I wouldn't say Camps largley responsible for our defensive record at all. Gunter, Wilson, Morgan have been quality all season. They play a massive part in the goals conceeded being so low.

Majewski.

Completely agree Kier! Especially when he just hoofs it towards the corner flag!

Whilst everyone's played a part I felt the player who made the key difference to our backline was Shorey.

The Wilson Wes partnership has come on in leaps and bounds ...
McKenna is bossing the midfield.
Gunter at Right back.
Shorey for a bit helped us through a difficult Christmas period relatively undamaged.
Mejewski can score a goal from nothing.

I think we are just a much better team now, and everyone is pulling their weight in the right direction.

I dont think you can single out 1 player that has made us a better side. 1 player does not make a team, BD has brought in players to make a side, from McKenna, Majewski, Blackstock and Camp, all these players add some thing to the squad.

He has also allowed other players to improve their game while playing under him.

He has done a great job, promotion or not.

Without reading all the other replies I'm just gonna say Lee Camp.

Although it is always easier to say when a keeper has won us a match over a outfield player, I think his confidence has spread through the team and especially the back line. They have confidence in him and more trust then any keeper for many-a-year
