Player of the year

Resident foodie!
Do we have an event for this?

I was just looking at QPR's website and they have a player of the year dinner at a five-star hotel near Heathrow where tickets are £65 per person and that includes a three course meal, half a bottle of wine and champagne on arrival which isn't too bad really!

When is it announced too, cause I remember Jules collecting his trophy before the Yeovil game last year.

Only two players players really have a chance of getting that title.

Wes Morgan and Chris Cohen.

I think Wes edges it for me, he has been the most cosistant all season.

No wonder my post count..
I'm voting for Andy Cole for his outstanding contribution to the team and for not pointing blame elsewhere.

To answer the original question, yes there is a Player of the Year awards night but I'm not sure it's open to the general public. I could be wrong though.

When I was involved in the Londinium branch of the supporters club we were able to get our hands on a number of tickets for the dinner as each supporters branch gets to vote for their own and present the award.

I did suggest in the subscribers zone that if we could get our hands on a pair of tickets for the awards dinner for our sponsorship of Earnie then we could auction them or raffle them off with the proceeds going to the server fund but no-one came back to confirm if we were able to get some tickets to make this possible.

I might be biased but I think it's a fantastic idea! :D

Can't believe people would actually vote for Wes, very short memories, he's been excellent for maybe 5 games this season, abysmal for the first 1/4 of the season and the slightly better of an horrific bunch for the remainder.

IMO there should be only 2 in the running, Cohen and Earnshaw.

Officer Biddle should be able to get a couple of extra tickets, but at a cost! I'll find out how much, i'm sure I've got an email hanging around somewhere!

1. Wes 2. Cohen 3. Earnshaw

If Perch had of been half as good in the second half of the season as he was inthe first then he would have been up there too.

My point is that we might be able to get some for free or cheaper since we sponsor Earnie. Not realyl sure how it works but was only an idea.

Not sure we want to be paying loads for something when we're trying to raise money for the server!

Cohen most defo.

I really do hope we stay up, because to see the majority of our team make way would be hard to take. I have a feeling we really are on for something if we stay up.

People who vote for Cohen have equally short memories. Yes he never stops running, or trying, but there have been multiple times this season where he has been completely ineffective in games.

And your choice is?

Seriously now

Seriously, in spite of what I've said, my choice would still be Cohen. Just pointing out that you can't really rule Wes out on the basis that he hasn't been perfect, because to be honest, none of our players have managed to be anything more than good in, at most, 50% of the games they've played in.

Fair point, most of our team have had absolute mare's, some more than others, I feel Cohen and Earnie have been far more consistently effective than any other over the course of the season.

In fairness, I'd sat Earnie has been more consistent than Cohen...but I just can't give it to him, on the basis that he's missed far too many games injured!

1. Smith 2. Rice 3. Cohen

I don't mind really who wins it as look as we don't make ourselves look stupid like the sheep did last year voting for themselves.
