Tough decision this year with so many playing an integral part to our success. I'm edging towards Wes because he's give he has all and played a huge part t keeping our clean sheets.

McKenna: maybe missing the last few months of the season will count against him.
Camp/Morgan/Gunter?

But i think Cohen, he's the most versatile and played in many positions. might not have the technical skills of a Raddy, but for sheer effort,, i think he might grab it.,

also the look on his face after he scored at West Brom, shows what he feels for the club now.

Either Big Wes or Kelvin. They've had an extremely busy season and been excellent for 99% of it. Both have made vital contributions at the back, though Wes has stunned us, and his team mates who stop to watch, with his mazy runs too, so may just shade it!

I can't decide between the centrebacks, I lean slightly towards Wils just because of the level of improvement he's shown.

Wes without a shadow of doubt put his body on the line week in week out,But if he gets it you may as well have a joint award that is awarded to Gunter Morgan Wilson and Camp.The 4 of them have been the bedrock for you season i think they have only let 35 goals in all season only Newactle have a better record with 30 and Swansea with 33.

The player I feel has made the most difference between this year and last in turning us from a shambles into some sort of co-ordinated unit it McKenna, so he'll get my vote.

Feels weird having so many candidates though.

Camp Morgan Wilson Gunter & Chambers have produced a solid backline.. 3rd best in the league!

McKenna for being able to break up the majority of opposition attacks & win virtually every header whilst being the smallest player on the pitch!

Cohen for being Mr versatile & playing well in every position he has played this season

Raddy for his sublime skills

Tyson for his flag waving celebration against derby

Earnie & Dex for their goals and work rate


What a season and its not over yet the challenge to EVERYONE in the suqad is 7 or 8 games to make yourselves heros amongst the fans!

I'm struggling to say either Dex or McKenna. Without Dex's ability to hold the ball, flick on and be the strong frontman we have lacked for such a long time I fear we would be nowhere near the playoff's. With him in the side we have that 'defending from the front' virtue I believe so important for any top side.

Then again, McKenna has been the same kind of figure in midfield. Breaking up attacks, distribution and leadership.

It's Dex's goals that made me vote for him, but thinking again, McKenna's leadership and spread of play may actually put him ahead.

Incredibly tough decision to make. I was split between Wes, Camp, Cohen and McKenna, but i went for Cohen because he has been superb all season having played in his favourite position only on a few occasions. Whoever doesn't win this year is very unlucky because so many deserve it, but i'd much rather have loads who should have it than a clear out and out winner.

Kelv for me. He's improved so much in the last year and has been so solid all season.

Wes and Wilson have been our most important players this year, and the main reason for our success.

My vote goes to Wes though, he is my hero

Would have been McKenna but we are without him now, still a great contribution no-less. Morgan gets it for me though, your player of the season has to be consistent, rarely absent from the squad with pivotal moments of brilliance.

That brings it to Gunter, Wilson, Camp, Cohen and Morgan.

Morgan deserves it imo, it's close though!

Wes deserves it for not only this season but for his previous years and geneal devotion to the club, which in all fairness is probably the only thing which separates him from the many other candidates. Also the reception he will get 28000 singing youl never beat wes morgan awesome

Plenty of candidates this season, compared to last time when Cohen battled it out with Wes.

I will vote for Wilson because I don't think there will ever be another centre back in this league who is as comfortable on the ball as him. His reading of the game is exceptional and he has pace, he's almost like a poor man's Rio Ferdinand.

If you had told me I would be voting for Wilson after he put us in real trouble with a stupid headbutt against Sheffield United last season, I would not have believed it.

Camp's obviously been top drawer in net.

Gunter has been there all season and only made a couple of small errors.

Wes continues to rise to any challenge put his way.

Majewski has scored stunning goals.

Cohen is as tireless as always and has scored a few.

Blackstock leads the line with a maturity that belies his years.

McKenna held it all together for so long, and without him in our side I wonder if we could have turned the corner after such a lacklustre start.

I think Camp has made the biggest single difference and for that I've voted for him. I could never have believed that a defence containing Chambers, Morgan and Wilson could keep a clean sheet against a side like Cardiff, but Camp has come in and given them a presence to build around. They deserve praise as a unit but Camp fulfils the same role behind the defence as McKenna does behind the midfield. Even with Morgan and Wilson performing well he has still had to put in some stellar performances and deserves to win this award imo.

I remember doing a successful thread about this last year

I've gone for Campy, he's made some world-class saves and he's already got dozens of clean sheets this season. Without him we'd probably be mid-table.

I still really don't understand this. Yes, the headbutt (not that it was a headbutt or there was much contact at all) was stupid, but aside from that, Wilson had a really good second half of last season and has always shown the potential and talent to be a very good player. I don't get why people ignored that just because of the headbutt thing.

Besides, don't all the best players do mental things... Beckham at WC98, Owen at Old Trafford, Cantona at Palace, Zidane vs Materazzi, Rivaldo's head hurting from the ball hitting his knee, Best, Maradona, Gazza... could go on!
