Pitch Invasion..

I understand there'll be a carnival atmosphere on Sunday and it should be an entertaining afternoon, but is a pitch invasion really necessary? I mean last year was different, it was just an impromptu reaction to the unlikely promotion which was only gained that afternoon. And it was great. But this year we've known that we're safe for a week, so any pitch invasion is pre-meditated and just a bit unnecessary...there's not going to be that euphoria at full time and it somewhat devalues events like last year's promotion.

Added to that it may prevent the lap of honour, and the very unlikely but possible punishments from the FA (Wolves have been worried about a fine or points deduction this week) is there any point this time? What do you think? Do you plan to go on?

no point in one stay in your seat and let the players do a lap of honor that all the fans can enjoy

I think just because we have stayed up, some people will run on. Obviously, if a load of people go on, might as well go on :D.

It will be largely embarrassing if it happens.

If survival was assured on the final day then it would be slightly more forgivable, but get a reality check, people - we've had a rubbish season by and large!

Anything better than 20th place is a bonus, celebrate the future!

I'd need a rope ladder ....

how long does it take to get from the upper trent onto the pitch?

I fear everyone will be gone by the time i get there.

I'll be in LB put probably won't go on unless virtually everyone is on the pitch. Much happier for a lap of honour, as people say, we know whats going to happen and we havent had a "good" season so yeah.

Isn't a pitch invasion supposed to be a spur of the moment thing rather than being pre-planned?

Have to agree, if say a win had kept us up on Sunday then for me its last man/woman on at the end but now it would just be embarrassing. Plus your bound to get some idiots who will goad the southampton fans and saints fans responding so can't imagine Police being too happy if people try to come on this time.

So no Pitch invasion for me and quite frankly given the season we have just had I think a lap of honour would be embarrassing as well. However maybe im just a miserable git whos never satisfied

Last year was very different for obvious reasons. A pitch invasion on Sunday would be pretty pointless and embarrasing.. I don't get it... Maybe I'm just getting old :D

I'd like to see the players thank the fans and for us to be able to recognise the effort put in this season - not sure that would be considered 'a lap of honour' or not. Also, there will be some players playing their last game for the club.

Well if a pitch invasion is good enough for D*rby this season then it's good enough for us!

On a serious note I have to agree, even though we are safe and we are all really pleased that we are still in the championship, a lap of honour is the better idea and the last thing we need is getting into trouble with the FA and getting a points deduction or anything like that we all know how picky they are.

Anyway should be a great day and really looking forward to it nice to see some Goals Goals Goals :)

If that's your reason for wanting to pitch invade, to aspire to a bunch of freebie-ticket-toting arseholes, then that's even more sad than wanting to pitch invade to celebrate a glorious season of scraping into survival!

I like pitch invasions, when they're justified, but they should be for a reason - not just for the sake of it because it's the end of the season, or "because Derby did one, innit".
