Petition to Redevelop The City Ground (or 'Not to built a new stadium')

Your post is a great definition for 'apathy'

I'm not apathetic. Far from it, I would love nothing more that for Forest to stay at our spiritual home. However, I'm realistic enought to know that Doughty has not listened to us, when we have called for managers to change, not listened to our choice of who to bring in as manager and certainly will not listen to us when it comes to something this big.

Well I think it's alot better than throwing your hands up in the air and saying f*** it! Nothing gets done with that kind of attitude...

I agree with what you say about it being a big decision and Doughty doing his own thing... but I have been thinking about this and wondered if the club would/should ask season tickets holders what they would like i.e. stay at City Ground or move to a new stadium.

I'm afraid I can't see this decision being made by the club. Any developments are going to be done in Conjuction with a successful World Cup Bid. The City Ground in its current location cannot provide the facilities neccessary for a World Cup venue.

Having seen numerous venues in Germany 2006 they all had substantial areas around the ground to set up parimeters and media centres, fans activities etc. I reckon the only way redevelopment can happen is moving people out the houses and clearing substantial areas around the ground. The River though provides a different problem!

Because the club would hold their details that was all but I suppose they could ask people who buy tickets on the day.

I think you are laughing though at the thought that the club would ask our opinion?

overpiced beer in plastic glasses, high parking fees flatpack stands argghhh!

I thought the problem with the City Ground was local planning permission. with all the housing around the ground we are restricted to what we can do. That's why the Brain Clough stand to the Bridgford end dips down and that the main stand is still like a cow shed.

How many City Ground petitionists does it take to change a light bulb? Two. Neither of them want change so they just sit around reminiscing about how good the old one was.. :)

With respect, as the freeholder, the decision is likely to be solely the city council's rather than ND's.
