Peter Whittingham?

Unlike a lot of clubs, Forest can pay cash up front. Cardiff are more likely to take a reduced fee of £2M for example in cash, than a structured payment of £3M paid over a long period of time.

But, cash-up-front isn't the Forest way. If any club were to offer a larger offer, but with more clauses and conditions, I'd imagine that to be us.

What would be the max that everyone would pay?

I wouldn't go much above £3m probably, and thats steep for a player out of contract next year I think.

3m for player out contract is abit OTT but when he out contract,do you think we'll have a chance of getting him? I dont think we would cost more and more premier clubs would want free whittingham to be fair.

if we have bid first the reported in paper 2.5m,we havnt heard if that was turn down or not? i did read burnley 1.7m was it got turned down.
