Could do the same job as agent Clough.
In all seriousness I wouldn't want Perch to leave unless we get decent cover in first.

Just seen this, can't really see it happening as Billy keeps re-iterating the squad needs adding to not reducing.

Also Perchy covers alot of positions so again unlikely we'll sell.

However everybody has there price.

Think we'd be divvy to sell him to a rival side.

I imagine they're signing him as a right back because I think I head last night that Danny Simpson's loan isn't being renewed beyond this month.

Wouldn't want to see it, what with a recurring left back problem back on the horizon. Even if we secured Shorey for the season, I wouldn't be satisfied unless it was silly money (2.5 mill+)

Couple that with the fact that they don't fancy Ryan Taylor as a right back I'm sure thats why their after Perchy.
If we let him go then we must have something else lined up.

Keep him - his flexibility in covering a number of positions could be invaluable later in the season.
Unless of course Billy ( and the acquisitions committee ) have got players lined up.

I wondered how long it would take foe Calderwood to return for more. Remember he obviously highly rates him as he made Perch captain.

I think Perch is an excellent proffessional.
IMO ability wise part of a reason we couldn't make that step upwards under previous managers though.

No he didn't. Billy made him captain for the back end of last season.

CC had Wilson as captain when Breckin didn't play.

Do you think we can accept the offer and send them Luke Chambers instead, and hope nobody notices?

He's better at football than you are at jokes.

f*** off Newcastle!
Just because you know we are going to steam past you doesnt mean you can take our most versatile player.
The only player I would let them have right now is Aaron Davies.

I would rather he was in Newcastles first 11 than ours.

Spot on mate ;D althought perch does have some good attributes he certainly nowhere near possess the abilty of Nicky Shorey or Gunter, when perch is on the pitch all he does apart from the odd tackle is give the ball away he doesn't have that killer pass like shorey and certainly not the quality.

cya Perch good bye to bad rubbish

I am in two minds about this.

On one hand Perch will never be a starter in our current squad and if he is starting for Newcastle then it would be an indication that their squad is not as strong as we are led to think. On the other hand he is a very versatile performer, provides valuable cover for a number of positions and would be our best pick at right back if anything happened to Gunter.

There is no indication of the size of bid so I wonder if this is designed as much to try and disrupt us as strengthen them. All in all I would say that a sizeable bid would tempt me to sell IF it enabled us to replace him with someone better.
