perch is going to newcastle

pretty much done and dusted

if this is true then, YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!! It'll be like getting payed to improve the squad.

Cant see it

It is on football rumours tho VH!
If it is true I'm happy with 1m tbh but its the signing of players i am more concerned about.
Think(Hope!) that this is the week when afew come in, surely?!

I dnt see why everyone wants to get rid of Perch (unless Newcastle offer above 5000 000 for him) because he is a very good player to have in our squad because he can play pretty much play everywhere in defence and in midfield and also he is a nottingham born lad and is only young and can still devolp into a better player.

Hes had so many chances to nail down a position its embarrasing. Right back is his strongest position id say and even Chambers is as good a full back. Wouldn't get a sniff of playin premier league footy. (should we get there) bye bye jimmy.

Above £5million?! That's a ridiculous amount of money for Perch. Don't get my wrong, I am a fan of him and he's a useful squad member, but for £5million, I'd give him a piggy-back up to Newcastle!

Perchys wife? I can see it happening though and would be very happy with a million for a squad player, we paid that for Raddi!

Feel sorry for Perch being the latest whipping boy. If he goes then that mantle will no doubt go back to Chambers.

Shame to see him go as I think hes a good squad player, but feel his chances will be limited next season unless Gunts gets injured. 1 mil would be a fantastic deal for us, doubt we will get that much though.

hope this is true would prefer maloney as back up every dat of the week

No it won't chambers will be ok it will more than likely go to Adebola (if still here) or McGoldrick some one like that, but please don't feel sorry for perch because he wouldn't feel sorry for you..

Hmm if it's true and he's being signed by a Premier Leauge club, maybe he's not as bad as some of you think...

Good point, but we are talking about colin calderwood need i say morelol
So that would be two who you pour scorn on that would be in the Premiership if this came off.

I'm not having a go at you here - It's just that there is a certain irony in that.

I know what your saying and of course it looks ridiculous on my part to say such a thing considering both would be in the premiership , are they doing something right and are we missing the point. I think not Calderwood for all his personal achievements with forest he was not liked by the majority me included and if I’m honest, I was so happy once he had departed from this club, and the same will be said of James Perch, however I know some on here still rate him and will defend him because of this, but personally I never have so whether or not they will be in the premiership matters not to me I will be just glad they are not here and good luck to them

He's a decent squad player, certainly with ability, but I'm not sure he's good enough to hold down a first team slot once we've signed a few players ala Shorey, Pratley, Whittingham etc.

Nothing against the lad, he's been a good servant, but can't see where's he going to fit into the Newcastle squad if he goes there.

Good point and I have to agree with the sentiment that he has been a good servant to the club and has done what was asked of him, but the fact remains he is simply not good enough no matter where he plays he has never been able to sustain and cement a place in the first team so for him and forest, a move away would be beneficial to all
