Perch and Chambers today

Bodes well for us with this two if we get any injuries at the back, both performed well against prem opposition ;D

Agree 100% mate.

Chambers was very impressive today, had Cameron Jerome in his pocket.

Poor old Perchy looked absolutely cream-crackered by the end of it though - guess he's still short of match fitness.

Better than the days we had to stick youth-team players on the bench to make up the squad though!

I thought Chambers looked like a League One player. He was slow to get the ball out of his feet, he didn't stay goal-side. He was really lucky to be awarded a free-kick when he ran across Jerome and was simply muscled out of the way leaving Jerome with a free run on goal. If he played more than a few games in a row you'd soon see the goals pour in. Perch on the other hand was really good.

I nearly twatted the guy 2 rows behind me who was moan moan moan about Perch.. At the end when he was cramped up he shouted "come on get up you..."

The guy has not played 90mins for what 8 months! and starts against Brum and was always running, constantly into space, shame no one wanted to pass it to him!

Don't agree with that the few times they got the ball forward esp towards the end he left Chambers for dead.

he left Morgan, Chambers and McKenna for dead numerous amounts of times.

I think they all did very well, and to those saying we need to replace them I genuinely hope this goes someway to disproving that. When we play a team that are 8th in the premiership and we have 80% of the game, why oh why are there people still dead set ready to write people off?

Just one more time...8th.

Well, they made six changes, so less than half of a side (overachieving) in 8th place. More a reserve team than anything.

There's no reason why Chambers can't become an established Centre Back at this level, time is on his side to impove certain aspects of his game to be dependent against top opposition in this league.

How many times did Birmingham really threaten? I couldn't count many and it certainly wasn't because their attacking force was better than our defenders. We only look suspect when we gave the ball away needlessly and were outnumbered on the counter.

Thought Chambers and Perch both had solid games. I was however unsure as to why Chambers picked up Jerome where as Morgan picked up Phillips.

6 changes, so what, its still an 8th placed team. If we went up I'd be happy for both of them to remain in the Forest squad, they'll both get better with age.

I'm assuming we used a zonal marking system instead of man marking, and the Brum players happen to play on their sides.

It was a good game to mix the defence up. Brum didn't really play with any wingers so unsettling the fullbacks was a low-risk move, and both coped admirably.

Chambers had a decent game - and came closest to scoring for the Reds with an excellent header.
