Paul Anderson believes he is on course for a return to the Premier League with Nottingham Forest.
The winger ended his association with Liverpool by completing a £250,000 switch to The City Ground earlier today.
Anderson failed to break into the first team at Anfield but is eyeing up a top-flight return in the near future under Billy Davies.
The 20 year old, who spent last season on loan with Forest, said: "Everyone's ambition is to play in the Premiership and play at the highest level possible but I think we're going to do that at this club.
"The ambition I've seen and the players I've seen at the club, there's no reason why in the next couple we can't be up in the Premiership.
"I'd love to go back to Anfield one day and show them what they missed out on really.
"I'm happy to be here and it's probably one of the best days of my career so far ... and I've had some highs."
Anderson rejected the opportunity to join Swansea earlier this summer and admits there was tentative interest from Wigan following Roberto Martinez's move to the JJB Stadium.
Martinez was in charge of Swansea when Anderson had a successful loan spell there two seasons ago.
He added: "We did talk about it but again even if the opportunity had been there for me to join them, I would still have chosen Forest."
Anderson, who made 28 appearances and scored two goals for The Reds last term, has signed a three-year contract.
