Youth Team
have i missed the transfer of paul smith to west ham, because i swear iv just saw him training with robert green for west ham on skysports news?

I'am a bit slow so excuse me if he has actually been transfered

Re: Have i missed something?

Confirmed by Vital...

Presumably they've shown an interest and we've allowed him to have a trial?

Re: Have i missed something?

Laughable, good enough for West Ham, but not good enough for our fickle fans, well done bozo's

Indeed. Although I think in his best interests he should forget about joining West Ham. He clearly needs regular first team football and he's less likely to get that at Upton Park than he would here. Still, he'd likely get more money for warming their bench and we might get a few quid.

Paul Smith is a very very lucky man to be potentially moving up in league terms.
Like it or not he simply has been/is not good enough to displace Lee Camp.
Don't just blame fans for players poor form/performances it's becoming a habit. Agreed it's not helpful but it's something that all proffesional footballers have to put up with.
Do you think that if he has a bad time at West ham should he move there the fans will keep quite and not get on his back. Don't kid yourself it will be twice as bad as he has ever had it here.
Good luck Paul but I for one think its time you moved on.

I reckon we need to sell more players and not bring in any replacements
Well I certainly hope Camp doesn't get injured at any time, but even more so now.
I haven't really seen Darlow but we certainly look a bit thin on the ground.

Wow, mind you I suppose it's better to be a number 2 keeper to a team in the prem than the championship. Unless of course he's using this opportunity to impress other London based clubs

Darlow appears to have both grown over the past year and become more assured.

He's still a long way off both Smith and Camp, though.

I notice Colin Doyle has joined Coventry on a short-term loan and had a trial with Plymouth. I liked him when he was here, for such a yung keeper he was very assured in his performances, would be a great second choice keeper to Camp.

Give it a year or two and it'll be us in the Prem and Wet Sham in the Championship.

Do you think he'd benefit from a loan spell Rich? I'd hate to see us stunt his development by having him just warming the bench because we've got no-one else.

I think Doyle hasn't developed as much as he had the potential to do, due to a lack of games. To have only 41 league matches under your belt, when you've already passed your 25 birthday is not ideal.

I am worried tho now if anything happens to Camp, we will have to put Darlow in goal, unless there's plans to bring in another back up keeper before window closes. Maybe a young prem reserve keeper who doesn't make the 25 man squad?

At this rate and a few injurys we will be lucky to put team out .and we are one of the favorites for promotion dont make me laugh
