very strange that they've only announced a fee agreed

West Brom have reportedly turned down £2.5million for 30 year old Jesus Greening. Football has the proverbial 'more money than sense' ::)

£750k does seem an awful lot for a 31 year old.

Small price to pay for an experienced campaigner who will be the lynchpin in midfield. The role he does in midfield is often overlooked and underappreciated but is very important.

31 isnt that old in todays football, it seems that most players are capable of playing through to 35 36 nowadays so 750,000 to get him in on a contract that covers the next 2 or 3 years will do nicely. I think 750,000 for Mckenna i a better deal than a million for barker.

I think it's a bargain. This is a crucial signing and clearly one that Davies regards as very important. Bring in Gunter and Mills and I expect Forest to reach the play-offs at least .

Considering that we have money to bid , 1 million for Barker isn't particularly high as opposed to what ? 3 million for mills ? What's the price for a good solid center back in this league ? Barker has shown that he's adapt at both center back and right back and he can deal with big strikers. Our hopeless defence got dominated in the air by big strikers.

So a fee has been agreed between Forest and Preston.

How near are we to actually making him a Forest player? Surely we have to agree terms with McKenna himself?

Yeah but that shouldn't be too difficult. we can offer higher wages than preston plus he will probably want to be playing with BD again
