What do people make of the fact that BD often travels home to Scotland straight after matches at the weekend and then doesn't return to Nottingham until Thursday morning?

Can a manager manage properly under those circumstances? Is he taking the P*ss with this arrangement?

I believe he still isn't even back in Nottingham now as pre-match press conference etc did not take place today as normal
 
I just read that **** on vital and the main culprit is OTT, given the fact he has gone awol from our site I dont believe a word he says.

Sorry didnt read it right, Yes I think he can, As long as everyone knows what they are doing then there is little need for him to be there every day.At the end of the day it is a sign of a great manager when the manager is not needed 24/7.
 
Ian Holloway didnt even turn up for Blackpools game against MK Dons, So let all make a mountain out of a molehill with this as well.

What a load of stinking horse ****e. A manager's presence or lack of it does not determine if he is a poor, average, good or even great manager. It says more about his commitment, drive, trust in his underlings, and job satisfaction than it does about any level of greatness. I also think it says more about the other staff at the city ground and their ability to cope without him. The only good thing it might say about BD is that he is good at and happy to delegate.

What do you think? As a paying fan are you happy your manager spends so much time away from his players (assuming it is true of course)? I know from my experience of running corporate motivation seminars (a few years back now) is that one of the most common complaints that workers have is when their managers are not present enough.

Maybe you should have got Billy on one of them and we would have been in the Prem this year, For what its worth I am more than happy with the current set up as I am sure ND and MA are as well.

Just a small point on this issue. BC was always playing Squash admittedly not in Scotland, but when he was present at the ground he was on the Whiskey. Maybe BD is enjoying some Scotsmans relish!
 
Billy obviously places a great deal of trust in his backroom team (well they've followed him to every club he's been to!) so must be confident that "Ned" Kelly and the coaches can handle whatever comes up on non-match days.

Which will just be general training and the like.

I'm sure if Billy is at home in Scotland, he's only on the end of the phone if needed. He's back for the preparation for the matches, and the matches themselves, and that is what is important, I'd hope that the players know their jobs enough that they don't need the Manager watching them run around a load of cones every day!

Billy only has Thursday's and Friday's to get his thoughts on tactics and such over to the playing staff. Doesn't that concern you?

You nearly got my 'pun' As for driving thats clearly wrong the club even flew Lennon back home. He was a fully commtted player was'nt he:nowink:
 
How do you know what hours Billy keeps? If it is true, then he seems to be doing something right as hes transformed us since hes been here!

Im more concerned that he can't keep his trap shut about the supposed disharmony at the club, whilst on the plane back to East Midlands......................:rolleyes:............
