Keep out of the retail park and the business park because you'll be clamped.
You have 2 options - either park in residential Whitley and take your chances that your car will remain where you left it - OR - park in Three Mile Cross (RG7 1AT) near The Swan pub on the old Basingstoke Road. About 10 minute walk from there across junction 11 on the M4.

Ideally wanted to to park close enough so that could walk it (without being ripped off) . Don't mind a 15-20 minute walk - how fars the train station from the ground?
I've been a few times before and always got some form of supporters bus, beginning to think that may have been the better option

Not really any pubs around the ground. The Swan is probably your best bet but it's not an "away" pub as such.
Thinking about it - I doubt you'll be able to see the Cov game here. It serves beer and that's about it - not a SKY pub I don't think.

How much to park at Three Mile Cross?
We managed to dump our motor on some random business forecourt near the ground last season, had a nightmare journey down ended up being stuck in traffic for an hour and a half and we couldn't find anywhere to park so we had to leave it there luckily we weren't clamped. We somehow managed to avoid a speeding ticket as well despite travelling at around 90 when we got out of traffic, lucky day!

Yeah remember last year! Ques on the car M25 and major one on M3, luckily I went cross country and got there ok. Regarding parking, I parked near the ground about 10 min walk away, there was a small charge I think. No problem getting away really, no more than a 10 minute delay in car park.
We'll no doubt lose the game so you could leave 5 mins early to get away

Nothing to park in Three Mile Cross - it's a residential road without yellow lines. But it fills up so the sooner you get there the less of a walk you'll have.
There are plenty of places to park on business forecourts if you get there early enough around the industrial area but it's always a risk to park on private property without permission so it depends on how lucky you are feeling. Besides, parking in three mile cross means that you'll have a relatively easy route onto the M4 without the traffic... but you will have the walk.
