Pape Sarr

[SooverNFFC]

Seems we need a thread for this guy

Think we all know him.

Monaco, you have your casinos, your yachts, your F1 track. But we are family. Come to Forest papa (pape)

[jdthebrit]

The article quotes him as thinking anybody other than Monaco is sloppy seconds.
No thank you.

There's also been a report earlier stating that he has a preference to remain in the PL.

Edit: just seen the post above.

He cut that a bit fine, playing for Spurs the last 2 seasons.

[Locadoodledoo]

For clarification, are we classing him as a reject?

Spurs sloppy seconds

Maybe "On the Bench Adjacent"

[MetgodsMittens]

If he’s fast, get him in, as our side has no pace at the moment

[Ryan’s Johnson]

I’d be happy with Sarr.
Young, prem experience, mobile, pacey for a cm, pretty sure he gets on the score sheet from time to time and shouldn’t be too costly. Just what we need.

[tjhooker]

I think he's got real potential

[Canadian_red]

This year's "reject" is last year's "how many Elangas is that?".

[Cortez the Killer]

Yes, Sarr, that's my baby.
No Sarr, I don't mean maybe.

[Aitor & The Snow Dog]

No Sarr, I don't mean maybe.

Draw something resembling anything

Is this another reclamation project? Every Spurs fan opinion of him I've seen tends to the negative side.

I’d argue there aren’t many players they have had in the last 2 years they don’t see negatively.

Gallagher was getting pelters last season when he joined and he’d easily walk into our team as an example

[Master Yates]

I asked my Spurs ST holder mate and he said he still has good potential, just stalled a bit. Loan with an option seems ideal.

[reddog8000]

I guess Spurs will need cash this year rather than loaning players out.

[Rob1965]

I keep hearing that Spurs will need the cash, they won't. They are in no danger from SCR or whatever they call it now. They make nearly 600 million a year with 5 million plus every matchday, numbers we can only dream of. They can spend what they want, not that they would ever be sanctioned if they did break any limits.

I think any player we take from another Premier League side will be at least one of the following:

Knocking on a bit (Munoz arguably, Wood, Shelvey, Boly)
Young and relatively unproven (Neco, McAtee, MGW, Anderson, Elanga)
Coming off the back of a recent bad injury (CHO)
Out of or soon to be out of contract (Zinchenko, Lingard)

We just don't have either pull or the financial muscle to just grab prime players from the first team of other Premier League clubs without there being some sort of caveat.

[Wheats]

Not a big fan of this guy, he looked awful against us and in every other Spurs match I saw on TV. Very ineffective imo … if it’s a loan let’s hope the obligation to buy is not triggered by him just training twice or summat equally stupid.

Why is it that when we might be bringing in a player all I see is a negative response. Do you remember when Wood was coming from Newcastle. The biggest one I can remember is when we brought Mickel Antonio from Sheffield Wednesday who turned out to be an excellent signing. Give players a chance and then make your mind up.

'Twas ever thus mate, unfortunately.
