Potential signings probably do a bit of background research - check the forums and get the idea that Forest are a club at war with itself, where the manager is out to get himself the sack for a pot of cash, where the Chairman is a skinflint with no ambition, where the advisers are incompetent lackeys either hand picked to prevent us from being promoted or just too stupid to lace their own shoes.

Billy's performance at the Q and A was an exercise in Public Image building (for the club) so why would he be doing that when he is so notoriously outspoken - perhaps some of his list of targets have turned us down because we appear to broken club? now I wonder where that Idea came from?

Here's the moral for the hard of thinking: shut up with the mindless self destructive spouting about the clubs ambition and incompitence and let them get on with the business of securing players.
Cannot agree with you more

With all due respect to forum members who have based their opinions on idle gossip on the internet forums and media rather than the actual facts and this is the big problem. We are tending to believe in what the papers might say or what Vital forest or any other 'alleged inside sources' sensationally reveal, yet they have been proved time and time again as being incorrect. The cold hard facts are, unless you actually work beside the clubs heirachy, noone knows jack shit what is going on.

In the past I had a source who was a football agent and the information divulged usually ended up being wrong or jumping the gun some what. Football agents only do this (as I found out later on) to boost interest in their clients and they are usually the source for most gossip. As for the Billy rumours this summer, I wouldn't be surprised if the bitter and twisted tosser at Derby had anything to do with it, likely to try and unsettle us, something which is working/has worked. I personally see Nigel Clough as an insult to the Clough name epsecially towards forest His antics last season were akin to a child throwing his toys out of the pram and looking for constant revenge.

Being a member of LTLF since 2002 in it's infancy I have met some very special friends on here and have enjoyed some amazing experiences and certainly will enjoy more with those people whom I can proudly call friends. I have seen the forum develop from a light hearted, jovial place to dare I say it, a hateful, argumentative place where oneupmanship is the primary concern for now the majority of members. It's just not funny anymore, no matter how hard we try, the forum has lost it's edge and has just decended into chaos.

Time to stop believing the gossip and lighten up, life is short so lets enjoy it..

Can I just apologise... I edited the post about four times and forgot to change the first sentence. In my mind I was agreeing, but initially it came out all wrong.. .Read it again and you'll see the edit I made... Sorry, that was a genuine error!

Dan, we all liked the forum as it was. It was a close knit community where you could leave your front door unlocked and windows wide open - but things & people change!

The organised chaos the forum has now isn't at all that different from what we had back in the chillisauce days - threads going wildly off topic, annoying forum members etc. Sure there's some unpleasantness on here, but once we all meet up at the pub all that is forgotten.

Basically, stop being a drama queen. :nowink:

Col, I think you are missing my point by a long shot. The people that meet up, well certainly from the ones I've met, and that is a fair amount are not usually the main culprits. I could say the forum has become a victim of it's own success. However It's not about being a drama queen, Capello left because he got fustrated over the comments he receive.... and of course he went to Huddersfield ;) and I know a number of longer term members who have just given up posting because they've had enough. It's not about people changing, it's about it becoming too serious. (Even Dan R doesn't smile anymore) lol

I'm not for the exclusivity of it all, I appreciate we have diverse characters on this forum, in fact I welcome the diversity I think others don't.

I know what you're saying, and that was the point I was making. The people you've met in real life are the good guys, the online warriors are invariably the wrong 'uns.

Just concentrate your energies on the people you've actually met and know do exist outside of the Internet. Sod the rest of 'em, real life is more important.

And the fact that of our three main targets last January, one was with promotion rivals (and they quite rightly wouldn't let him go) and the other two chose to go to Prem clubs where they could earn 3/4 times what they could get at Forest. Mind you, I blame Billy for the resulting anti-panel hysteria when we didn't get them!

good points on the people being bitchy to each other, i have not been on this forum long as i used to be on the one that the evening post ran (due to when i first starting looking at forums and tried to join this one either my pc or the site wouldnt accept the letters you have to type in to make sure you are human) but on joining this site my first impression that was that of people just slating each other and not really bothered about forest. What everybody doesnt realise is that WE ARE FOREST right up from the board down to the baby who has been dressed in forest babygrows by their parents and all this bitching is pointless, we all want one thing - to see this once great club back where it belongs, challenging for league titles in the prem and sweeping all before us in europe and personally i would love to see us win the F.A cup for Cloughie )it was the one he wanted the most towards the end). And when on 15th August we are all sinigng mist rolling in we will once again be reunited for 9 more months of elation and anguish and all emotions in between. The point i am trying to make is stop slagging each other off WE ARE NOTTINGHAM FOREST F.C and to and that makes us loyal to anybody who wears that red shirt with rpide
