Panel

So I was all ready for this week. I felt sure they would not send billy into his "audience with" without a signing, or I expected them to announce signings at lunchtime today to raise the profile of the friendly tonight, but still NOTHING!

Surely this panel is proving once again it is not working, what the hell is going on?

Give Billy a spending budget and a wage budget, let him get on with it. ggrrr!

Do you really think Billy would have more chance of getting Shorey, Whittingham or Pratley on his own?

still here...
We will start the season with no new players, then a few will trickle in before the transfer window shuts.

For ****s sake, how many more threads on this?

Do you know any club in the world where the manager is given a chequebook and pot of cash?

Tutts is right.

Other than Manchester City and (possibly) Chelsea, all other clubs have to take their time with transfers and get the best value possible.

The thing is now, as evidenced by the demise of Portsmouth and the problems at Cardiff and Sheffield Wednesday (amongst others) there just isn't the spare cash floating around the game nowadays.

I personally think this transfer window will be a trickle-down situation; when the Premier League teams have done their business, then those in the Championship will do ours.

We may still end up with Shorey, *if* a Premier League club doesn't come in for him.

Things may not be sorted until the end of August, we just need to chill out and be patient.

No team has won or lost the title in the first three weeks of a season!

Am i the only one that is getting pissed off with being Shorey's 'PLAN B'. He either wants to come to the club or he doesn't. Can't believe we are being held to ransom for an effin leftback!

Ever thought that players might not be coming because they don't want to play for Billy?

McKenna left his comfort zone as Preston captain to come play for him and he's worked with him before! Camp was the same too I think.

Billy says there is no wage cap at the club so why can't we agree personal terms with players who have been reportedly ready to sign for us?

i really hope we sign someone before the season starts because if we don't i can see alot of fans being pissed off and venting there anger at the matches which is not going to help the team

Because "reportedly ready to sign" is a million miles away from "actually ready to sign".

jon, try going outside... having fun, maybe even doing some work?

its a lifestyle choice...

Potential signings probably do a bit of background research - check the forums and get the idea that Forest are a club at war with itself, where the manager is out to get himself the sack for a pot of cash, where the Chairman is a skinflint with no ambition, where the advisers are incompetent lackeys either hand picked to prevent us from being promoted or just too stupid to lace their own shoes.

Billy's performance at the Q and A was an exercise in Public Image building (for the club) so why would he be doing that when he is so notoriously outspoken - perhaps some of his list of targets have turned us down because we appear to broken club? now I wonder where that Idea came from?

Here's the moral for the hard of thinking: shut up with the mindless self destructive spouting about the clubs ambition and incompitence and let them get on with the business of securing players.
