Ousmane Diomande

I vaguely recall we had agreed to sign someone a few years ago and it fell through because they couldn't get international clearance (don't think I'm making this up - happy to be corrected by someone with a better memory than me).

Other clubs announce signings "subject to international clearance" but Forest don't presumably because we got caught out before. So there's a good chance Diomande might have already signed before the weekend and it's just taking a few days to get the clearance before announcing it.

This seems to have gone rather quiet. Hopefully we can get it over the line asap.
Seems a strange situation

They have signed his replacement, he has agreed everything with us, he has all but left & is not even training with them - yet nothing is happening. I had assumed he would be flying back to the UK with us to confirm the deal.

If he is involved for them in their league opener on Saturday, I would be a bit concerned

Not for me personally, but if that’s your preference then see you in September 👍
I mean I keep half an eye on the headlines but I've been bitten too many times to go back tbh.
I just can't bring myself to take any of it seriously knowing that its 70% likely to have been invented by some tosser for social media engagement.

It’s getting closer

There are a few stories in Portugal stating that we have come to an agreement but god knows if they have any truth to them.

The bit I translated says...

Diomande’s move is the most advanced. The center-back’s transfer to Nottingham Forest is all but finalized; an agreement between the clubs has been reached, with only a few details regarding payment schedules left to settle. Consequently, the Ivorian international is expected to be the first to officially depart, in a deal valued at approximately €40 million plus €5 million in add-ons.
