Omari Elijah Giraud-Hutchinson

That cut back to Gibbs white, is what impressed me the most about him. The vision and the fact nobody was expecting it not even Gibbs white, had gibbs been more switched on he would have scored. Speed, trickery and unpredictability is growing, his going to be world class.

Do you think Lucas Digne woke up this morning to find Hutchinson going past him again?

He just needs his own song from A Block now.
"Ohhhmari, Woah-Oh!
Ohhhmari, Woah-Oh!
His barber tucked him up!
Forest will win the Cup!"

"You’ll catch him surfing at Anfield (inside, outside Hutchinson)
Up at Stadium of Light (inside, outside Hutchinson)
Twistin’ them at Old Trafford (inside, outside Hutchinson)
He makes defenders look shite (inside, outside Hutchinson)
He’s all over the Cottage (inside, outside Hutchinson)
Emirates Sta-di-um (inside, outside Hutchinson)
There’s only, only one Omar (inside, outside Hutchinson)
Omar Hutchinson!" 🏄‍♂️

But it’s just his size is it not? He’s about 5 foot 6. He’s not ever going to hold off 6 foot 3 defenders regardless of his strength.

I don’t think he should change his game, the skill is in using his body smarter & becoming more two footed, that’s what he should work on
Come on now, I am not suggesting he changes his game, or be able to hold of CBs that’s just being silly. I specifically said it’s not about bulk it’s about core strength.

Bernardo Silva is about the same height but is really difficult to get off the ball. As you say some of that is positioning but generally he has great core strength so he isn’t easily walked off the ball in shoulder to shoulder contact.

I am also not sure how a professional athlete can’t work on core strength and his weaker foot at the same time.

Similar size to Messi who basically never got physically dominated. It's not just about bulking up necessarily but just using what he has better.

He needs to do something though as he gets pushed around way too easily. I actually did think last night he was really good though in general.

Bernardo Silva is the perfexct example of what I am talking about

He uses his body brilliantly, Bernardo Silva is not strong at all, nor is he quick. And he absolutely does get knocked off the ball quite commonly in physical duels against guys twice his size, it is just going to happen with players their size. I just don't think it is nessesery to bulk up, your comparison to Silva proves that, just be smarter or quicker. Bernardo Silva is knocking nobody off the ball with core strength, he just looks after the ball well.

H

He was marinading him in face cream in his nightmares
Omari is never going to get away with the face cream thing is he

I am not sure how many times I need to say I’m not saying he needs to bulk up.

Also didn’t say Bernardo is knocking people off the ball, I said he isn’t as easy to walk off the ball.

Ultimately though I think we are probably arguing the same point, that which ever way you want to call it, he needs to improve his on the ball retention, be that a bit more core strength or body positioning.

I once patted Lascelles on the shoulder and he was a solid guy! I'm not small, but would have had a struggle against him (we did milling regularly in the Army, so you get used to not backing down) and so recognise these smaller guys in matches have to use their guile and gumption to get even with defenders larger than them rather than physically challenging them.

I professed admiration for Hutch when we signed him, thinking that he would prove he was worth the money, and have not had reason to change my opinion since.

A good example for Hutchinson to look at is Summerville at West Ham. There can't be much difference between them height-wise and he never seems to be knocked off the ball.
