Omari Elijah Giraud-Hutchinson

I always thought he had something about him but he's really been fantastic the last couple of matches. Reminds me of that first season we had Elanga in that he's raw and his decision-making sometimes leaves a bit to be desired but there's a hell of a player in there and he never hides away!
Hutch is stepping up now when it matters most. For me thats the sign of a top player

I don't know what Vitor has put in young Omari's coffee, but he's playing like a man with his - admittedly dodgy - Barnet absolutely on fire, and this is what I want to see the young man do.

He absolutely had the left side of Villa's defence on toast, and came back for seconds; his clever, persistent play won the penalty, and he was a constant threat all night.

Possibly the best I have seen him play for Forest, and if that is his level, well, then keep it up young man, because he was brilliant.

Hutch was well on course for MOTM at half time. Villa grew into the game more in the second half and also filled bodies into their left hand side to prevent Aina and Hutch from marinading down that side.

He's really starting to blossom now and it's clear that VP's instructions are to get your head down and go at players but make sure you vary it, inside and out, if you lose it, I don't care, do it again. Simple and encouraging. That's all wingers need a lot of the time.

Marinading? 😂 Well I guess they were really bathing in the limelight in that first half

Hutch marinading down the wing?

Well, I mean, I thought he'd given the opposing defence a proper grilling, but that's bonkers!

Well done to the lad, without him chasing a lost cause and cutting the ball back which gave us the penalty, he caused villa problems down that right side.

BY far the most positive of our summer incoming wide players, two things for me-
His decision making is frustrating sometimes, shoots when there's a pass on, holds on a bit too long before releasing etc.
Needs to hit the gym so he's not bullied off the ball so much
Both the above can be worked on, if they improve we could have a serious player here

Definitely starting to see the reasons why we paid all that money for him. He needs to work on his decision making and final product next season but if he starts putting numbers on the board, he will be a 50-60m player.

I’m not sure he needs to bulk up too much, it’s just more learning about how to use his body in certain situations to buy fouls and such.

Need a meme of the hulk with his head shopped on

Yeah I don't think he needs to bulk up necessarily. He's small with a low centre of gravity, he has other weapons against bigger defenders.

Just a word on all those comments saying he needs to bulk up.

How many times have we seen players do exactly that only to not only lose the attributes which made them so promising but also become more injury prone because their muscle structure is different.?
I bulked up one season upon advice from a "fitness coach" and lost a yard of pace which was my biggest attribute. Following that I dropped the upper body weights back down and went back to what I'd been been doing previously. It didn't suit me at all.

it’s not bulk that’s the issue it’s core strength.

He needs to get stronger.

But it’s just his size is it not? He’s about 5 foot 6. He’s not ever going to hold off 6 foot 3 defenders regardless of his strength.

I don’t think he should change his game, the skill is in using his body smarter & becoming more two footed, that’s what he should work on

He definitely needs to work on his right foot a bit, but funnily enough it's been the side that has caused more damage with crosses from the byline. Even the penalty last night came from it!
