I thought the release clause was 35M? The player will likely have a say in this but I agree that £35M is plenty. It could come down to payment structure or add ons but no way we should offer more.

The release clause apparently ran out a month it so ago.
Not for £35m and not now that Spurs need a Madison replacement and also Newcastle are sniffing around him as he could be part of the Isak deal.

I rate this player. The fee is a bit steep, but if he fulfils potentials it will easily be worth it. I was bigging him up during the season when he played against us, so quite happy we have made a bid. He plays either as a ten or a winger, so he'd be a prudent addition, though I think he is more of an inverted winger type than a touchline hugging one. If we can't get MacaTeer then let's do it.

I'd love to see him here, he's just a joy to watch at times and I think he'd fit into Nuno's system a treat given a bit pf time to grow into the Prem. Probably more a player for later in the season or even next year as a guaranteed starter, but I reckon he'd still contribute significantly in that time.
35m is steep, but depends how much of that is add-ons. I wouldn't grumble if we pushed for 40m, it's a lot of money but I genuinely think this kid could replace MGW as our main attacking outlet given some time, (even though he plays in a different position).
