Oliver „No Middle Name“ Glasner

Murillo talking about UCL football, what is Glasner doing in training.
To be fair, when Murillo joined he talked about winning the League & Champions League. It is commonly known now it is the aim within the club, probably why he's stuck around.

I remember Felipe talked about qualifying for the Champions League & winning trophies as well.

I think players talk about it a bit more freely now because we've got one of the few owners outside of the big hitters that demonstrates he will financially back us to the hilt every single year to try and achieve it.

People like Simon Jordan have spoken at length about how the big fella has a completely different mentality and puts his money where his mouth is. Other pundits have subsequently acknowledged it too and it's not something that's as easy to scoff at as it was a few years ago when the likes of Jim "I once spoke to him in the player's lounge" White were mocking him.

This is a snippet about what insiders think about Glasner

They believe the appointment is the first one in over a decade that is not out of pressure from results but to improve the level of the club.
That’s an interesting point that hadn’t occurred to me before, every manager appointment we’ve made for years and years has been made to try and turn round a run of disappointing results (with Nuno-Ange the only debatable one). Until this one.

Andy Goldstein - you have 15 mins with Oliver Glasner, lets get some real insights

"how annoying was it that Elliot Anderson left soon after you joined?"

wtf , do some basic research on the timelines of when OG joined and how long ago the Anderson deal was effectively decided. At least Townsend asked some ok questions

Tbf it's a bit early for Goldstein he might not have had his morning cocaine yet, so he's probably off it

"What's your relationship like with the owner?"

I bet Glasner never saw that one coming...

The answers in the Talksport interview were a bit shit, think Max should have probably spoken to him but he answered every question really well. Said all the right things really.

No excuses:

He revealed: "I've already had an instance where I had to tell the players there was too much moaning and complaining in training sessions. I told them that winners don't moan or complain - they accept the challenge and make the best out of it. If you always feel like a victim, such as saying it's too hot or the pitch is too dry, then you aren't a winner. If you focus on what you have to do on the pitch and accept the circumstances, then you have the best opportunity to be a winner."

Dyche just got more ammunition for the next time he moans about or players on a podcast.

Good stuff.

We really can't be having this mollycoddled culture which we've had to bend to for the likes of Nuno and VP long long term if we're to push on. You're always going to be onto a loser unless you've got a club culture which breeds people who can stick out the rough time and play to their best without everything having to be perfect.

Encouraging stuff.

Article from John Percy this morning about OG. We now have a meditation and yoga coach. Surpised it has taken this long to get the latter.

He's not your everyday-type prankster, he's OG, Olivier Glasner.
Allardyce used to swear by yoga, its not to different to calisthenics which is also a new thing at most gyms. Supposed to build inner muscle rather then bodybuilding. Ryan giggs used to attribute it to the longevity of his playing career, dont think he attributed it to gagging his brother wife though.

I really like this. Wonder who the main moaners are? Might need to still weed out a few players to get rid of this mentality.

He's been making them run too much hasn't he.....

We're understanding now what he meant when he said he had no issue losing the ball etc. But won't tolerate anyone looking after themselves or "we'll have a big problem" takes no shit but backs those who give 100%. love it
Be interesting to see if there are any early casualties...
