Oliver „No Middle Name“ Glasner

"Glasner revealed talks with Marinakis over a seafood platter in Athens convinced him to become Forest’s fifth head coach in less than 12 months"
I'm going to make it my mission to make the seafood platter reference a thing in conversation in here, like a less threatening version of the bakery thing.

"He won't be able to turn us down once he's had a platter with EM".

I'm also quite hungry now.

Austria’s version of the BBC
8,600 people (85%) believe he’ll be a success.

He’s clearly also had a detailed look at the squad and it was interesting that he mentioned players like Hutchinson and McAtee. Once we get a couple of CM replacements in, it’s going to be interesting to see what he does with this squad. A working week in with the team already, he’ll know what he wants.

Looks pretty obvious that he’s got a massive say in transfer activity.

Best seafood platter I've ever had... can't wait for this season to start... Jesus and MGW are gonna tear it up...!!!

If he's as good with his methods as he is delivering pressers then we have definitely gone up a level, clear honest ambitious, loved it.
Was very clear if a players not working 100% for the greater good he's out on his arse

This could potentially be the best period in our tecent history if things click, buzzing now...

Where's that from??

I love seafood but have always found it disappointing here in the UK.

Admittedly never been to any high end sea food restaurants here either
Glasner had one in Athens with Big Vange apparently. I'm willing to bet it was in Piraeus, not in Athens (please keep in mind it's not the same thing, Olly), and specifically in Mikrolimano which is where the fancy seafood restaurants are, by the sea. Pretty sure Big Vange owns at least one of those, or is mates with the owners. Or the owners owe him favours. 😂

Oliver needs to remember that if things aren't going well and he's invited there for a sit down, then Big E needs to "go take a leak" he needs to bail sharpish...

... Godfather reference for those that don't get it 😉

„Stavros! Two seafood platters, quick as you can! My new friend Oliver here is hungry!“

I note that when discussing hope, expectation and ambition and the fact that he had won trophies at Palace, Olly was very specific about what hope and expectation meant in his world and you have to work jolly hard to achieve your ambition. So the players will not have it easy in pre-season getting his methods into their heads, which is as it should be.

Plus, listening to Kevin Nolan on SSN this morning, who lives in Nottingham and his son plays for the club, saying that he thinks getting Olly is a great coup for the club.

So it all sounds positive at the moment.

Absolutely. That is, if he hasn't already "accidentally" planted his feet in a pair of concrete molds... :ROFLMAO:

I think Nolan's lad is in the U18s this season.

Thanks, I guessed it was one of the youth teams. My son in law is a West Ham supporter and we went together to see a number of Hammers games when the came down for that season and Sam had that tactic, which never seemed to fail, of crossing to the back post for Nolan to head into the six yard box for the inevitable goal.

Much like not marking Messi the other night in that late second half debacle, I always wondered why opposition managers never seemed to note that tactic and plan for it.

With the intelligent questions, compared to some of the other hacks who showed up.

Mainstream sports journalism is on life support.
Everyone else, especially Talk Sport: "Hi Oliver, did you know Forest had four managers last season? Do you think you will get fired soon and can you say something controversial sounding about the owner or Crystal Palace we can quote out of context please?"

I would be wary of his detail & honesty in press conferences, there will be plenty of national journalists that will come along to stir the pot between him & EM, doing their best to create drama.

Big nose Parish will probably hand deliver the questions.

I'm very impressed by Oliver Glasner so far.
Mr. Marinakis clearly felt it worth the investment and although things rarely go exactly to plan, you have to think Glasner will receive his full support.

He has previously achieved a lot with relatively little and we're lucky to have him in my view. It's unlikely to completely click immediately, but it will and with decent recruitment we'll comfortably finish PL top half in my view.

Glasner is clearly a very intelligent, driven individual and his interview responses were detailed and well thought-out, without resorting to cliche. I think he'll have more than enough to comfortably defend the inevitable **** -stirrer click media questions.

There will be no Oliver Glasner Rolling Scorecard this season 👏🔴
