Having a player who might take the odd decent set piece but who is so bad in their general play doesn't really work though.
We even saw that with JWP last season.
Can't think of many teams who have players who take good set pieces but their general play is so bad that they're basically included for their set piece ability and nothing else. Declan Rice, for example, takes good set pieces and Arsenal usually get results from them but he is also one of the best CMs in the PL if not the world.
I'm not even sure Zinchenko's deliveries are that good. Certainly not sure we have profited from them much if at all. Nor are they really much better than Luiz or Anderson, although Anderson's can be a bit inconsistent.

I honestly think it was a quick last minute panic. We had the guy from Spain (Can’t remember his name) all lined up that fell through for whatever reason and we needed a LB for cover. Edu made a quick call to Arsenal and that was that.

"whatever reason", reportedly, is that Zinchenko became available last minute and Edu wanted him more. All the reports from Spain are that we pulled the plug very late on.
