Forest chairman Doughty set to be made a peer
NOTTINGHAM Forest chairman Nigel Doughty looks set to be named a peer later this week and take a seat in the House of Lords.
The 53-year-old businessman, from Newark, is a major Labour party donor and also co-chairman and co-founder of Doughty Hanson & Co, a European private equity firm based in London and with offices throughout Europe.
Names were submitted by the Conservatives, Labour and the Liberal Democrats to the House of Lords Appointments Commission over the summer and it is understood that Doughty's name has been approved.
