I can’t work out if we’re seeing early teething problems that will resolve or evidence of another relegation scrap.

Bit of both. Think we'll get better the longer we go on but not enough to do anything better than lower mid table, which is where Glasner sides usually end up.

Got a few things we should have improved on in the transfer window just gone which is going to be an anchor for us until January at least. LWB, CM and AM a must, we need to start working out who they are going to be now whilst also working out an exit for Ndoye and one of the CMs, likely Sangare given where he currently is in pecking order and his potential sale value.

Well, it’s the morning after the night before.
Usually, having written my report about the game I wake up next day with a more considered view of what I’d seen.
This morning I still feel exactly as I did immediately post match.
I feel disenchanted for the whole football ethos: money, cheating, power politics, corruption, and commercialism.
I also am starting to believe that our players are rejecting the Glasner way.
I am rejecting the Glasner way.
He has all the charisma of a corpse for me.
Thankfully I can forget about it all now for a few weeks.
1 month into the new season and it is on hold for 3 weeks.
Why have supporters let that happen?
FIFA has stolen our national game and sacrificed it on the altar of greed.

Now I’ve had time to digest it all and sober up a bit we were chatting to some Cov fans on the train over who were great (always liked Cov as a club and my mate supports them) they just wanted to score a goal and all though they were gonna get battered again yesterday but were looking forward to a night out in Nottingham post game, I assume they had a great time! I said something along the lines of “I wouldn’t write your self’s off we have a habit of gifting struggling sides 3 points and our home form is horrendous, wouldn’t suprise me if you won 1-0”

Looks like I was bloody rite! This home form is now a real issue I have been to 16 league games now since the start of last season and seen 2 wins! We are in a run I think now of 3 wins in 12 months at home? Leeds, Spurs and Burnley? I know people say the crowds are flat and I agree but it’s getting harder and harder to get going when after 10-15 mins we have offered little and are once again passing the ball around in the horseshoe of death before shooting from 25 yards. You could feel it yesterday after 20 mins you could feel what was coming we tried to get going but it was difficult when the lads in the pitch aren’t giving you much to shout about.

3 weeks now to stew on this it’s gonna be a long 3 weeks!

Also why we changed the side that played so well last week is beyond me. Aina and Jesus should have started. And also why at 1-0 down did we just go full Dyche and put Wood on and just check balls into the box? Why not put CHO on and have MGW, McAtee and CHO in behind Delap and offer something different? Seems to be the plan was “juts chuck it in the box and hope” which I thought we’d gotten past?

Palace away next, that is now a massive game with Arsenal, Chelsea and City at home with Brentford (Loss) Bournemouth (Loss) and Ipswitch away in between. Then Brighton who are flying and the Hull who will be tough…. I’m happy to be proved wrong.

Further thoughts:

Chucking in an unfit Jair on the right side of the 3 after Ola's performance last week was madness and it showed. One of Jamie's worst games and that will have set him back confidence wise. Brutally exposed for the goal.

Not having digs at the City Ground crowd and atmosphere from either OG or our own, yes it's shit at the moment but in previous seasons we've given everything and f*** me, for nearly 18 months they have given us NOTHING to get behind in the league. Takes two to tango. That said, don't approve whatsoever of leaving 20 minutes early with the score at 1-0. Terrible look and a bit embarrassing.

What does the future hold for CHO? I hate that he is wasting away on the bench. Feels all wrong. He has so much quality and has always produced in his time here. Feels criminal to be trying N'Doye in the 10 over him. The latters had ample opportunities now and never consistently grasped them. Next man up please.

Nothing has changed in my mind after a good night's sleep to interpret last night as one of the worst City Ground nights since we got promoted. Was just horrendous. Everything from the nature of the performance, how easy it was at times for one of the worst sides in the league who will almost certainly go down, VAR disgracing itself yet again to the tangible apathy across the CG. Not often I leave the CG with no desire at all to go back anytime soon.

The City Ground is now a place even the poorest sides in the league target to get points. Lampard said it himself. How has it come to this?

I don't know where we go from here at home. Whether it's performance, officiating, result, the 30 minute long queues to get in, lack of water, huge costs - it has become a consistently miserable (and bloody expensive) experience going there and we are league 1 renewal levels of loyalty. Heads need to come together and sort it is fast becoming a milestone that is either stopping us from progressing or dragging us down.

Woke up. Still annoyed.

We never, ever show up for games like this and it will forever stop us from progressing until we sort it.

Once Coventry went ahead, you knew it was over. For some reason, whenever we're chasing a game - even if it's only 1-0 - we never seem to be able to really pile on pressure. Other teams find it so easy to just shut us out.

Work to be done. Irony is, we'll probably end up getting a win at home against tougher opposition.

Absolutely.

After they scored, I said to my husband "that's it, there's no way we're getting 2 goals here. I'll happily take a point". And we had more than 30 minutes left. But it was really disheartening to actually watch it happening, and us playing almost like vs Wolves in February in the process.

I hate shit posts like this. Dont blame the 'day trippers'... blame the season card holders who can't be bothered with games like this any more.
Yep lack of morale fibre from them. However, they've paid nearly £2000 thus far to see one lucky win at home in 2026.

All roads lead to Marinakis hiring that Leeds **** who jacked up the prices for a club thats battled relegation 3 out of 4 seasons. Customer expectations were duely raised in line.

Nearly as bad as letting the only good Olympiakos player go to Brighton instead of here. What the f*** is that about after the amount of Oly shit he's sent to Forest?

Talk about missing an open goal.

I fear yesterdays result is my fault.
Didn't wear my lucky trainers :(
Apologies.

I think it's unfair to say we deserved to lose, though I don't think we deserved to win.

We were very ponderous in attack, kept on slowing it down when you were just thinking "run at them, speed it up"
Not watched the goal back on TV yet but it looked to be fine from upper Clough near the Trent end though as soon as i saw VAR CHECK i knew it would be chalked off .... we just don't seem to get those small margins like other clubs do.

Anyway, three long weeks to get annoyed by it now until the next game. Hopefully Oliver will ready his army

I think Oliver's Army are basically telling him they ain't behind him.
That will end one of 2 ways: either Marinakis makes Glasner managerial sacking number 26, and bites the compensation bullet hard.
Or he backs Glasner, sells the players who don't fit/won't try to fit the Glasner system and buys players that will bend the knee to Glasner.
Either solution will be expensive.
And already I hear the howls of "sacking the manager every time doesn't work".
I would answer that with "make sure you recruit he right manager in the first place".

Whether whether Glasner should or shouldn't be held accountable, the club should have known that Glasner has a system and they would bring in a manager with that system for this squad. E.g. it was just wild that we'd go out and spend so much on wingers last year and then bring in a manager who doesn't really use wingers,

I've been sick of reading it for years. Anyone who thinks that the so-called modern model works at Forest, where we supposedly smoothly transition through managers because the top brass are overseeing that, is deluded. We're not stable enough, and we cycle senior staff too much.

This club should do everything it can to find a good manager that suits it and aim to keep him for as long as possible and let him build his own team because we are constantly chopping and changing from philosophy to philosophy and getting nowhere with it.
The best run clubs at the moment brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford all have a philosophy and the people working towards that philosophy change but the philosophy never does.

Now we have glasner, I think we have someone capable of producing a philosophy. Is 100 per cent the right fit for us, I personally am not sure but im pretty sure it worth buying into. He has shown he has shit performances vs lower end sides and better performances against better sides. It may even out from now untill Christmas.

For an astute businessman, Marinakis seems to be letting his raw emotion supporting Forest, and his massive ego, dominate his business brain.

I thought VAR got the goal right, he does catch him and he tries to stay on his feet.

Not seen it mentioned much on here but I think the same lad pushes Neco with two hands in the back earlier on. Doesn’t give a pen and it wasn’t hard but seen pens given for similar, eg Wolves v Chelsea last year. Neco fell down weirdly but not sure it should affect the decision.

Well, I tried to be positive in my pre-match post, but, in my heart, I knew we would end up just as we did.

I really don't know what can be done, we've had so many managers of different hues and all have finished up struggling. Except VP. Was his sacking a mistake?

Whatever, we must lick our wounds for three weeks then try to lift the season. Of course, those of us who are of mature years have seen it all. Gloriously up and depressingly down, but we have finished up here, which might seen the arse end of nowhere, but actually we are in the Premier League, possibly the toughest in the world, so it ain't all bad.

Yeah that one goal incident was reffed to a different standard to the other 90 mins + injury time of the game. I'm sure that we all wanted VAR to rule out glaring errors and not find ways to rule out goals.

This is dont think we would be complaining if we got this decision. There definitely arguments for and against, the main issue is how can VAR still have no consistency. The cov player does knock into another cov player which wasnt looked at, id say the foot does get trodden on but its minimal and isnt enough to cause him to go down. That same bar is a lot higher for giving penalties, why? If your using a still to prove there contact you have to use the whole clip to see how that contact affected the play

The thing is sometimes the bar is higher for penalties, as it should be in my opinion, but sometimes it isn’t and any touch is given as a penalty. Just wholesale inconsistency throughout the implementation of rules in a game and the implementation of VAR. so annoying.

Yup we don’t have SC but are members and go to as many games as wel can I can’t be arsed to work it all out but so far this season we have been to 3 home games (Missed Spurs as was away) so including memberships and tickets we are in for over £400 already just on Tickets. And have so far seen zero goals. And 3 losses.

Have seen 1 win in 2026 as well so god knows how much we are in for going back to the start of 2026 but will be well over £1000 just on Tickets.

So I feel we have a rite to be slightly annoyed about what we are seeing.

Knowing Mr M he will grow impatient sooner than we think. I Dont like Glasner for the record and Munoz better than Aina -NEVER

Totally agree, the inconsistency is whats totally infuriating. The everton 2nd goal yesterday, how is johnson interfering if the city player wasnt the other week.

Football treats fans like customers, but then seems surprised when customers demand value for their money.

They can't have it both ways. People will moan if they think the product isn't up to scratch. You also don't go to the theatre expecting to have to gee up the actors to get a decent performance out of them.
To be fair there a few on porn hub that I wouldn't mind whispering sweetnothings to get them in the mood.

Glasners goal this season is to get us midtable, with little to no threat of relegation, it’s only 5 games in and we’ve lost via a bad goalkeeping error / decent free kick to a great Leeds side, and a really poor performance against Coventry.

I’m not sure why people are talking about sacking Glasner so early, he’ll turn our home form around. Anyone wanting to get rid just craves chaos.

Also rolling the dice at this point would be insanely expensive, if the players can’t play his system, then they’re not Premier League footballers
