I'm starting to consider that my lucky Forest Polo shirt that I got for Christmas might not be that lucky at all. I'm pretty sure I'm getting a new one for my birthday at the end of the month. Maybe that will do the job and we'll storm up the league. Should I consider the nuclear option and not use turnstile 18? That seems ridiculously extreme. I'm in an existential crisis here. What should I do?

Completely understand your issue. I'm also considering benching my lucky shirt, it's been a bit inconsistent for a while, and I got myself a new one so it could make its debut after the break. These things have to be taken seriously.

Today’s performance was shocking, surely Glasner realised they would play the high block an put 5 across the back.
The way to counter that would be quick slick passing , but the way we passed the ball around the back played right into Lampards game plan.
If our manager couldn’t see that it’s going to be a fecking long season

I try to promote Forest in Sweden - today they showed nothing to help my case.
But I don''t care: We all agree, NOTTINGHAM FOREST ARE MAGIC, and nothing is decided yet!
I live far, far, away - but somehow I am strangely still in love with this Football Club after all these years, don't ever change.
I really can't explain it - but the roar from City Ground when Forest score is something else - pure euforia. I just hope it will happend more often.

Whether whether Glasner should or shouldn't be held accountable, the club should have known that Glasner has a system and they would bring in a manager with that system for this squad. E.g. it was just wild that we'd go out and spend so much on wingers last year and then bring in a manager who doesn't really use wingers,

I've been sick of reading it for years. Anyone who thinks that the so-called modern model works at Forest, where we supposedly smoothly transition through managers because the top brass are overseeing that, is deluded. We're not stable enough, and we cycle senior staff too much.

This club should do everything it can to find a good manager that suits it and aim to keep him for as long as possible and let him build his own team because we are constantly chopping and changing from philosophy to philosophy and getting nowhere with it.
Agreed and I see a lot of posts on here highlighting a lack of patience in the fanbase.

"Everyone would write him off after x games"
"Nobody would give him the chance here"
"This forum would be calling for his head after x games"

Well, where does this attitude come from? It comes from the club. The club (as in EM) clearly has very little patience and wants the world on a stick and wants it yesterday. He has made it very clear what is expected and what we're aiming for.

Then every now and again we'll chuck out a pie in the sky bid for an unobtainable player like Wissa, Matheus Cunha or Henderson just to fan the flames some more about how ambitious we are.

Is there any wonder the fanbase has no patience and expects more than some other clubs around us in the league? If the vibe coming from the club was about sustainable growth ala Brighton etc and that we were now working to a set model then fans would adapt IMO.

I don't think we're in disagreement but - and I can only speak for myself - it's not impatience. It's utter frustration coming from watching the club make self-sabotaging errors time and again. I would have liked to see us start the season with VP who I'm sure all will agree had made us click again. Instead our leadership has plunged us back to square one by appointing a coach who has a philosophy largely at variance with the dynamics of our existing squad. Perhaps it'll all click with Glasner, I certainly hope so, but the evidence so far isn't compelling and we don't have the luxury of time in the PL.

I feel pretty confident in saying that actually we probably would have struggled in that game whether Glasner, Vitor, Dyche, Ange, Nuno or even Steve Cooper were in charge. We have a hard time, as a football club, dealing with the weight of expectation, when it comes to playing teams that we 'should' beat at home. Coventry is the Glasner example. Burnley (although we won, we really struggled for most) is the Vitor example. Wolves is the Dyche example. Sunderland is the Ange example. Leicester is the Nuno example. Luton is the Cooper example.

The two common denominators there are the players and the fans.

I thought overall the crowd was abysmal again today. 30,666 and aside from a few acts of token resistance/support, the loudest it got was the VAR decision. Coventry bullied us on and off the pitch, and this idea that the City Ground is World Famous or something special is a f***ing facade. If we're on Twitter or on here being all doom and gloom, then from a practical point of view, that's fine. But when folk are in the stadium getting restless and audibly frustrated, it translates to the pitch. Glasner is absolutely right, we've created a rod for our own back at the City Ground.

The VAR decision didn't make me angry, it was folk heading for the exits with 15 minutes to go. I can understand if some people have long trips or whatever, cool. But, it was more people than that and it's f***ing noticeable. If that is how you show your support, don't come.

When it comes to Glasner, I can understand keeping Igor on the bench for the second half so he's fresh and adds something new but I cannot fathom continuing to start Ndoye. Hudson-Odoi is very inconsistent but I feel like against teams like Coventry where he would have been able to do more of what he does, it's perfect for him.

I think Morgan had one of those games where he was just trying to do too much and forcing it. I hope Glasner also acknowledges that Morgan probably is better for the team when he's playing centrally in the 10. He's not fast enough for the wing and he's someone that thrives when he has different options either side to create.

I will say, Murillo had one of his best games for a while and I thought Delap ran his f***ing socks off, both had good games. I said to a mate at half time, this felt like Leeds on the opening day and it ended up basically playing out like it.

It's Matchday. Come on you Reds!

Its a 10pm match today here, so will enjoy with a whisky . Hoping for a win. If we do, will celebrate with a few extra, if we lose, will drown my sorrows! Either way, am getting drunk :)
Should have started the drinking much earlier and missed the game.

Wasted the first half, where we were far too passive. Defensive error for the goal; it happens in football. Right or wrong decision on the var? But var should never have got involved. This forensic officiating of games is slowly killing football.

The massive "up" from last week has been replaced by a bigger "down" this week. Sort the home form out, and lets do the hard yards in the first half of the season. I certainly don't want another season of worry come April/May next year!

These "comparisons" don't really add up though. As you say, VP won that Burnley game. Dyche and Ange enough said really, but Coops was still negotiating the extraordinarily difficult task of keeping a hastily thrown together squad in the PL. The way VP had us playing second half of last season we'd have very likely beaten Coventry today.

I don't think it's fair to blame the fans for the dross served up at the CG. They're not the ones in the boardroom appointing managers who make no strategic sense, and they're not the multi-millionaire professional athletes on the field who are only occasionally capable of executing rudimentary passes to teammates or once in a while managing to lift corners and dead balls past the first defender. There's a symbiosis in supporting, just as there is in attending a concert. To be effective in either requires a parallel contribution from both performer and audience. Unfortunately for the audience at the CG, the performers have developed a penchant for lackluster and uninspiring displays that have become so frequent they are now expected by the audience. There's only one party that can actually change that, and it isn't the supporters.

Proper top tree aren't you! Was the fans fault? What a f***ing joke!

Coventry bullied us off the pitch aswell? Big tough guy aren't you, spokesman of the fans. Absolutely ridiculous shite.

Plenty of managers better then glasner came and did exactly what he did when we used do the exact same thing with nuno and cooper.

On another note, now I know exactly how liverpool fans etc felt after we stole a couple of wins off them.

There is another angle that shows impact of 2 cov players. Whether what are saw was edited god knows but sky didn't show it, so lets see if its used post incident to invalidate the decision like the handball incident

Everyone saying we have no plan B - worrying thing is we can't even change bloody system as we've shipped out all our wingers bar one in CHO, & we bring Jesus on at right wing! Also keeping Ndoye over Hutchinson & even Bakwa was a joke...maybe a relegation scrap yet again!

Can forget thinking we can capitalise on 9 teams in Europe and getting a place ourselves this season!

Shite transfer window yet again!

If you are blaming VAR then you are blind. Very clear foul and on the replay you can see the defender react as soon as he is trodden on. Once VAR picks that up then the correct decision is made. Its a bit of a disease in football these days to blame inept performances on the Ref/VAR, but the fact is that we were absolutely dross today and did not deserve anything. Why we can only play away from home I just do not know but OG better figure it out soon.
I agree with this. It’s just so frustrating when it is so inconsistent. They look for any reason to rule out a goal, but completely ignore a blatant push in the back on Williams.

I bumped into a danish fan and his daughter outside the train station

All the way for that crap, but that’s football. Every team everywhere will have a bad game. We are charity FC after all.

If we don’t start winning at home then our away form will end up being dragged down to the same level and we’ll for sure end up in another relegation battle. As someone who doesn’t have a season ticket yet goes every week I’m struggling to justify spending any more money on tickets if we’re never gonna win or score a bloody goal.

So far nothing about Glasner’s way of playing has given me any reason for optimism but the manager merry-go-round has to stop at some point so all we can do is stick by him and hope he can make it click. However when he’s so rigid in his thinking and ignores players like CHO then it’s hard to feel confident that he’ll get it right no matter how long he gets.
