So an unexpected point vs Arsenal was followed by an even more unexpected win vs City which means I'm still on these... lol

Next up is Ipswich, who we have only just played and needed a shoot out to knock out of the FA cup, the return was won by a Chris Wood penalty at the City Ground.

Ipswich are likely to be heading into the Championship for the 2nd time in 3 yrs although the other time was a promotion from League One, but this won't be an easy match.

Form Guide (last 6)
Ipswich - D1 L5 (18th, 17 pts)
Forest - W2 D1 L3 (3rd, 51 pts)

Some selected players who have played for both (in the PL era) - most of these are shite
Aro Muric was on loan to us and now plays (sometimes) for Ipswich and lets in soft goals wherever he is
Jonny Williams played for them 2014-16 and was on loan to us in the Congo days
David McGoldrick
Luke Chambers
Daryl Murphy
Lee Martin
Danny Sonner
David Johnson
and also Roy Keane who managed Piswich and played for us as well as being assistant to MO'N

There's probably a few from the 1950s too...

Club legend (and my favourite all time Forest player) Ian Storey-Moore was born in Ipswich.

Huge opportunity here. We've got the easiest game on paper of the teams around us:
Arsenal v Chelsea
Fulham v Spurs
Man City v Brighton
Bournemouth v Brentford
Newcastle got the League Cup Final

So a win for us and we can increase our lead over some teams for sure...

That little step over shimmy he done before caressing it into the top corner  And on the following Monday Night (talk about fixture congestion, Saturday-Monday) we unleashed Stan to the world against United in what was a cracking end to end game.

For Saturday, no talk of "banker" "easy win", a professional hit job like we did at Brentford/Wolves/Southampton/Leicester. Doesn't have to be flashy, its only about getting points on the table now while the others fight each other.
They've already shown us twice this season that they respect us enough to know that keeping it tight at the back and allowing us to have the ball is the key to any victory for them, we just have to win anyway anyhow.

Strange to see them struggle so.
In KM they have a promising young manager.
They don’t seem to feel entitled like Leicester do, and try to keep things tight.
They have recruited quite well (big money mistake on Muric).
They have a promising striker in Delap.
A win there looks deceptively easy, but it won’t be.
I hope they do stage a survival fightback, but that it doesn’t start Saturday.
Providing our lads work hard, concentrate, and don’t assume a win is our God-given right, we will overcome.
Anything less than 100% and we could come a cropper.
Yatesey to start this one, methinks.

I’m on board with this. Think it comes with your era of footy growing up but Ipswich in top flight has a retro ring that I like. Lots of others can f-off though. Luton for example and Leeds.

Both games against Ipswich this season have been so hard fought with very few goals.

Kieran McKenna typically plays the same formation as Forest and most Premier League teams nowadays with 2 deeper midfielders, 2 wingers, Hutchinson in the MGW role, with Delap leading the line alone up top.

I wonder if Nuno might have some slight tweaks up his sleeve, such as what we've seen of late where he gets Elanga and CHO to double up on one side occasionally.

I think Fulham have the easiest game!

We need to grab this opportunity. I wouldn’t say it’s now or never for European football, but next season some other teams will be much stronger or “regression to the mean” as they say.
Never underestimate an away point. This match is going to be hard, not that they are as threatening as other sides, but they can take their chances and the longer the match is 0:0, plays into their hand.
Take early (potential) chances and we could win comfortably. Wood is due a goal or two.
1:3 (0:2 HT).
