Only been to Elland Road once. Back in 1981. Jurgen Rober opened the scoring for us before Frank Worthington levelled with a penalty and it finished 1 - 1.
With Leeds again, was at the WFCG back in 1968. Rod Belfitt scored for them before Dave Hilley equalised for the Reds. Remember it being a good game until the old Main Stand caught fire and the match was abandoned at half time.
One point would be huge on Friday.
I went to both games too-the first game was in March 1982 (shortly before Peter Taylor left the club).

I agree a point would be very important on Friday.

Playing Netz would be a bit of a gamble. He's used to the wing back role and that would give more attacking down the left but risks being out of position at the back. If CHO is out he'll probably have someone unfamiliar to the position ahead of him too. Might be too risky if he can't be trusted to have the discipline to stay back.

I'd probably be comfy with Morato in the middle and Murillo stopping back on the left. Leave to attacking to the other side with Aina and Hutchinson.

Updates from Dyche Pre Leeds.

Transfer - Netz brings balance to the squad. Some news wasn't quite right on deadline day.
Netz may come straight in. Trained today will make a call as he bring balance.
Sels we will find out over next 48 hours.
A knock on Callum's shoulder, will take a call over next 36 hours to see if he is available. Saw a picture earlier of him with strapping on his shoulder, no sling anymore.
Ortega may also come straight in.
Will look at changing squad for Europa in the next day or so.
Saying Netz brings balance infers to me that his other option is slightly unbalanced and therefore it will be Murillo at LB rather than Abbot coming in at RB

One of Ndoye's few strengths this season has been tracking back, so I think play him or Dominguez on the left and you'd think Netz should be fine

Will be interesting to see who starts at left back. Personally I would play Netz although I think Dyche will switch Murillo there and play Morato in the centre. If CHO is out I would expect to see Hutchinson take his place. Again with the keeper, if Sels is ruled out I would probably stick with Gunn, but wouldn’t be adverse to playing Ortega. Decisions, decisions…

It could mean that, equally it could just be a nod to having a left footer on that side and the natural width that creates as well as the willingness to go on the outside. We know both Neco and CHO prefer to come inside on their right foot. It's an area I've felt for a while (mainly due to how consistent Neco is) we need to work on. It's too predicable at times.

Unsurprising amount of outrage on twitter after Netz being referred to as a long term project. Anyone would think we've spent £20m+ on him based on the reaction from some of our fans, he's a 22 year old that's had a couple of decent seasons in the Bundesliga (along with a couple of not so decent ones) and cost us little over £1 million

What were people really expecting?

I honestly don't know anything about Netz. I don't even know if he one day becomes good on Football Manager or not.

Very much a low risk, potentially high reward signing though by the sounds of it - which can only be a good thing. We haven't done too badly in recent times with such moves.

It would be absolutely criminal of a bloke with the last name Netz played football from a young age, got scouted, turned professional played in one of the top leagues in Europe, then turned out to be shite.

It's like turning up to Sunday league in White Boots and a Brazil top... You better be good

On that basis, I remain grateful that we did not successfully sign Jizz Hornkamp

You can probably understand why a 22 year with over 100 Bundesliga appearances being referred to 'as one for the future' when we're desperate for a left back right now might leave a few bemused...

I think we'd all prefer to have bought in a LB capable of immediate impact but for whatever reason we didn't manage to. If everyones putting short term expectations on an out of form 22 year old signed for a fee that doesn't look out of place in league 1 then we're pretty much setting him up to fail

Even if he does come good it's likely going to take time for him to adapt, but at £1m we can't really lose either way

Leeds will be without Anton Stach on Friday. Nmecha also out. Bijol could return.

Both have been good for them this season so that’s a big positive for us.

As they tend to play with a back 5 they tend to be open to being hit on the break as their
wing backs can leave massive spaces in behind to attack.

Hopefully we can get the first goal and make the Leeds crowd nervous and then we can kick on during the game and our star players show what they can do.
