I'm massively on the "not giving a damn about how badly we played, since we WON" camp. Felt the same last night after the game and still there today. It wasn't as easy as it looked - I remarked to my husband many times that they did look more dangerous to me and likely to do something when they attacked than we did, as we often looked like we didn't have a plan going forward at all, and even basic stuff was badly executed. Their chalked off 2nd was huge,, and could indeed prove huge for our season, like someone else here said. It looked like a sign, and us scoring a few minutes later was another. From then on, I saw a lot of the grit and fight that we have so missed. Despite Dyche, and his seeming lack of ideas and willingness to try things and even react from the bench, the footballing gods seem to be on our side for once. (And BTW, the footballing gods also swept in and made things right after Dyche's crazy idea to juggle keepers - don't fiddle with that again, Dyche, I am watching you.) My instinctive reaction when I saw him raise his arms right at the final whistle was "mate, we won despite you, I'd just be humble, you know?" I'd love to say this is a turning point, but I thought the same after Liverpool, Wolves (taking the 3pts despite being poor), Tottenham. But there's got to be a turning point some time this season - we have issues but we're definitely not 17th-place bad. Maybe it's now.

We clearly are “17th place bad” and our performances for the vast majority of the season are all the proof we need of that.

Yes, the MINIMUM is a 5 goal swing, we lose 3 games 1-0, they win 2 games 1-0. But more likely a swing of 7/8 goals in that scenario.
Best case is they don’t catch up the7 points and it’s an irrelevance.
How? If they win 1-0 or by one goal advantages and we only lose by a goal then we still have a better goal difference.

Points are all that matters are the moment.

We know the players can do better but confidence isn't exactly high and we've been on a miserable run - so we'll take a win in whatever manner it comes.

Given how bleak things looked when West Ham appeared to go 2-0 up, to be sitting here the following morning with a win in the bag and a seven point gap opened up between us and danger, I'm not going to complain too much about the finer points of the performance. At least not right now.

We need to be very very careful that we don't turn this usually positive forum into a West Ham / Spurs clone of negativity , toxicity and bullshit. We are 7 points clear of the bottom 3, a bottom 3 that will likely stay the bottom 3 . We are still in with a shout of progressing in Europe, FA cup run to come and as things stand, a prem team. Last season was a fluke, a glorious one at that and we punched way above our natural position.... all this talk of getting rid of the 3rd manager this season is absolute nonsense and would take us a few steps backwards..... we are good some weeks, bad some weeks and average some weeks but what the hell did we expect since Ange left...? We are playing with a very talented, young striker in his 1st season abroad and without Chris Wood yet we expect to win games at a canter and score more than we are.
I for one am positive and think we'll finish mid table under SD's stewardship....who a few weeks ago was our saviour....!!!!
Saying all that i do think a few players need a rest as we look tired at times... get back to basics with passing and tracking and we'll be safe.
We don't want to keep swapping managers and head back to the Championship.... or god forbid L1.
Things could be and were alot worse not many years ago.

Y O U R E D S..................!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I take it you were not here for the Billy Davies years? Fawaz years lol

Watching that last night my biggest takeaway was how deep Anderson was playing until mid second half (when we finally started to apply pressure). My son commented first on how he was almost a CB compared with his position last year where he was constantly pushing in to creative attack. His physicality on the ball in the final 3rd is being missed, might be one reason we have such an isolated striker.

One of the reasons why he looks so much better with Sangare next to him. Sangare is brilliant at being in the right place, dropping in and cutting off passing lanes. Gives Anderson so much more freedom to get forward as Sangare is unironically one of the best players around for screening the back four.

I really enjoyed that. Nothing like coming from behind and scoring a late winner, especially when you’ve had a few pints.

I’d rather win playing shite than lose playing “well”. At least the players were committed. Dominguez was on fire last night. Wood is a massive miss for us.

And so what if we had some luck? About f***ing time if you ask me.

From where I was stood in the lower tier I thought our support was pretty good, all things considered.

We’ll stay up and win the Europa League. What’s the problem?

I agree, I'd like to see Elliot playing further forward again. I blame Tommy Tuchel.

Yeah. We seemingly waited a long time for Sangare to arrive as the player we thought we'd get and now he's most conspicuous by his absence.

All said and done I'd rather be us than West Ham this morning. We think we've got challenges, in almost every department theirs are greater (not just a 7 points gap but owners, 'stadium' etc). You can see things unfolding much worse for them in the next couple of years. I don't mind them, I miss trips to Upton Park and banter with their fans. As a community they felt similar to us, at least back in the day. Anyway, onwards.

Just back after staying over near the ground in a w**ky Travelodge.

A few points.

Neco is just awesome and was by far the MOTM for me.
MGW was very lucky that their second goal was offside as he was getting pelters from where i was standing.
Jesus will never score enough but tbf the service he gets is piss poor and there's no help close to him when he gets the ball. We need another striker, fast.
I thought the away end at Wolves was bad, but West Ham is on another level. I bet there was only 35k in there last night and there is no atmosphere at all.
We're still in massive trouble imo and the win covers up a lot of cracks.

But, a win's a win and onwards and upwards.

I don't think he will be seen again this season he has had to have another op.

I personally don't think he will play for Forest again and he will be moved on in the Summer he is 35 next December and after not playing for the best part of a year I doubt he will get back to where he was at that age.
I think he'll still be here next season, purely because of his age and him only having a year left on his contract. As much as I love Chris Wood, hopefully he's reduced to more of a bit part role and a new striker arrives in the summer as the new main man.
