Nyron Nosworthy

I'm told Keith Burt went to watch him on Monday night in Sunderland's visit to Naaarch. I don't know if there is anything more to come of it but I beleive he's been transfer listed by Bruce.

He'd be a cracking signing...

They tried to take the ball past Nyron, and he said 'No, No, No..'

Nos; now there's a divisive player. There are Sunderland fans who'd pay his fare to Nottingham, but I really like the fellow. I'd be very sorry to see him go; I think he's an important squad member at the SOL. However if he's going to leave there's nowhere I'd rather he went than Forest. He'd do an outstanding job in central-defence in The Championship.

In my experience Sunderland fans go off players very quickly - I guess given their elevation from Championship to Premier League then staying up means they need to churn players though.

Not a bad player, he could do a fantastic job for us in the heart of our defence, just hope we can get him,

I hope this is true and that we sent someone to run the rule over him, need to act fast on this if they really want him, i just hope some of the players mentioned remember Keanes days in charge at Sunderland and tell him where to go! :p

If he's a partner for someone like Sonko , it'll be fine but as someone to partner Wes , no chance. We need dominant tall players , not someone shorter than wes.

I'm guessing if he is given a straight choice he would choose to work with Keane again. Why Keane chooses to take his failures with him everywhere I go I do know.

I really am starting to doubt whether he has what it takes to be a top manager.

If your not Irish, ex Man united youth or Sunderland player he ain't interested in you.

Nottingham Forest will go head–to–head with Ipswich Town in the battle for Sunderland's Nyron Nosworthy.

The Jamaican player is surplus to requirements on Wearside and former Forest star Roy Keane knows Nosworthy intimately from his own days as the Black Cats boss and Billy Davies tried to sign him for Derby on two seperate occasions.

Is he as tall as Brian Blessed?

Huth on way to Stoke which could mean that Sonko is now freed up as he will be pushed even further down the pecking order.....more likely than Nosworthy I reckon.

Is there any truth that Billy has pursued Sonko or are just summising that because he's now surplus to requirements?

Cappello said we were in for him and that's good enough for me

I read elsewhere that Pulis wanted to keep him as cover until Huth had been signed, also read that Pulis was looking for a new left back as Higgingbotham had not had a good start to the season. Would take him and/or Danny Pugh for left back here!

He's a six-footer, that's not exactly small. Although I believe he's a natural right-back who Keane converted to a centre-back? Considering we need cover/competition for both places, might not be a bad move.

We signed him as a right-back; he wasn't a very good one. It was Keane who got him to play in central-defence, and he was a revelation. Mick McCarthy said later that he'd wanted to try Nos at centre-back but Nyron hadn't been keen. Obviously, Keane's powers of persuasion did the trick.
I said earlier that I hope he remains at Sunderland, but if he's going to leave I'd like him to go to Forest. Whoever does get him will have signed a good 'un.
