I am unfair. I am prepared to concede that yesterday was Garath McCleary's best game for us since signing. He showed pace, control and commitment and IF he can continue to turn in those sort of performances I would be happy to see hom in the team.

I want to be proved wrong about this guy and so I hope that yesterday's showing wasn't a 'flash in the pan'.

I hope it can continue, too.

I suppose a start on Tuesday will help him and I hope he performs.

Takes a big man to swallow their pride and admit they may have been wrong as well. Congrats! :)

Couldn't agree more, however I think he also showed a good spark when he came in the second half against Direby. He put in some very good crosses with both his left and right foot. I also believe that if Mcleary is overplayed it could work as a disadvantage and at the minute he is the perfect type of player to be on the bench and called into starting line-up if required.

I hope he'll survive this so called 'Cull' in the summer. The kids got unbelievable potential to make waves in english football.

BD's found a nice role for him. He's appeared off the bench in the last 3 games and made a big impact each time.

In one of his interviews, BD stated that in the summer, the team will undergo a huge change. I'm sure the world 'Cull' was used somewhere.

It's all part of the evil plan masterminded by Mark Arthur, Louise Kiddier and Geoff Hurst in the 1966 World Cup Final:

1)Cull Squad
2) ???
3) Find out the Leeds score
4) Profit!

Simple really.

I believe that he said there would be big surgery, but I don't think that means a lot of players going out.

Now, the way I see those interviews is that the young players are not yet ready to be plunged in to the first team like they have been, but have bags of potential to make it as good Championship players. Davies has stated many times the fact that he had lots of young, talented players coming through was one of the big reasons why he came to Forest. What he wishes to do is add in experienced players which every team needs (by that I assume he means late 20's/early 30's.)

McCleary did have a good game yesterday and we know he's capable of it despite having only seen it intermittantly this season.

Like with many players, it's swings and roundabouts and often dependant upon the supporting contribution of the whole team. With a fully functioning midfield and the right kind of passing balls, Garath will take them and feed them.

Yup, he was very effective. More so than Tyson was.

I think compared to previous times I've seen him, he seemed to make better decisions about when to take on the full back or when to play a ball inside.

Andover red was gushing about his involvement in our goal yesterday, which was a good example of a nicely laid off ball to continue the attack.

I think McLeary has had many good games for us, and one or two bad ones.

Already is a cracking player and can get better. We need a couple more like him.

And where are the mentions of the training methods of BD ?

If you go back a bit you will find that BD has been laying it heavy on GM. He has been trying his best to get the best out of GM.

Is that now paying rewards ?

On a similar vein...credit to Billy for having our team motivated and using the right tactics to obtain three points. Credit to our back four and Paul Smith for keeping a clean sheet. And credit to McGugan for finally putting in the kind of performance that he SHOULD put in every week...
