Just completed the Evening Chronicle Toon / Forest compo (3 out of 5 since you ask) and it got me thinking about past Forest clashes and in particular which Forest players stand out for me and NUFC in particular.
I know I am showing my age here but it may interest your (ahem) younger readers to know that one of the Forest players in particular had an almost cult - yes CULT (!) following amongst the toon fans or at least the Paddock where I habitually resided in the 'pre KK' days.
That players name was the great 'Johnny Metgod' and I am not exactly sure why he atrracted such popularity amongst the NUFC faithful other than the fact he was a sublimely gifted individual - it may have had something to do with the piledriver he delivered during one particular game at the City Ground in the 80's as I recall it or could it be that we admired him as a 'baldy' who was also mature enough not to give a toss?
Answers here please?
