Notice today as with the other day... Absolutely nothing from Marthur... Doughty has come out directly today and it seems apparant he is negotiating transfers himself!!!

Is the end in sight for our favourite Chief Exec? :hey:

Indeed, lets not use signing 4 players, who many have cried out for, as a reason to ridicule someone.

Arthur was clearly involved in these signings, how abuot we give priase where it's due.

I don't think so. In Doughty's interview he talks about how Billy and Mark Arthur have been working hard for months to get players in.
Maybe a soundbite to give him a little praise, but Doughty seems to be taking a more hands on role of late... There seems to be less involvement from Marthur....

Maybe Marthur is more involved, and concerned, about sorting out a new sponsor than taking the glory of parading players around.

Doughty announced the signing of Earnshaw last season.
I don't mean just the close season, In January he was out of the country and kept a low profile, from then on he suddenly has been upping his profile a notch. Not a great deal, but certainly noticable... It maybe nothing, but I can't help thinking he is taking the club by the scruff of its neck and giving it a damn good shaking.... Maybe he trusts Billy Davies more than his previous managers and Billy has asked him to do this?

Don't know, but Dan has insinuated that Doughty's involvement in the press means Mark Arthur has had no involvement with bringing these players to the club.

Credit where it's due and all that, Arthur was said to be involved, and so far we've captured 4 players, 2 of whom were right near the top of a lot of fans' wishlists.

I think he has a bet to see how many times he can get that yellow jacket on TV.

Maybe he's bought shares in the company that makes them and is trying to up their sales.

I'll buy one if we sign Blackstock and Gunter.

That phrase reminds me of an old advert, which I think was Bisto.

The story about Santander being our sponsor MA is busy sorting out all the legal ties to finalise the deal something he has ben doing for a few weeks. Also this is his sort of area as he has some degree in marketing so MA is meeting all the the Santander bigwigs to get the deal sorted. :)

So don't shoot him again this summer lads

As always, no one knows the ins and outs of who made the phonecall, who decided the figure etc etc etc.

Needless to say the deals we've negotiated in the last few days are a combination of a) the money and input of Mr. Doughty and b) the work of Mr. Arthur and Mr. Davies who have been employed for such things.

I'm feeling a distinct sense of vindication about the whole affair, as certain people would have seen us sold off to any bugger rather than a reasonable Forest-supporting ownership, who are now thankfully coming to fruition.

And most importantly, I come to this conclusion before a ball is kicked. Whether we succeed or fail next season, the important thing is to recognise whether wise decisions are being made to try and foster success. Any child can piss and moan if we in fact keep losing games, but its clear most of us agree with whats happening now, so good luck to them.

it seems to me that Mr chairman as finally got a manager he thinks is good enough to get us back in the top flight and he is finally spending the money on the right players. nothing to do with m. Arthur

Stupid thread.

Mark Arthur has clearly played a big role in negotiating for new players.

You know the other players we've signed before and since Earnshaw? He probably had some involvement with those too.

Chris Cohen, Paul Anderson, Nathan Tyson, Joe Garner, Lee Camp, Guy Moussi etc. were all signed before Billy Davies arrived. Mark Arthur gets far too much stick. The club have been proven right with regards to the prices in January being inflated, by the Camp transfer.
