Hello, Oli here from Birmingham.

Any Forest supporters travelling to Forest vs Sheffield Utd tues 28th september from Birmingham and care to provide a lift? Would be much appreciated. You reds!!
 
Hello Oli. I am a season ticket and live in brum - pain in the arse for midweek games, but I sleep at friends / or book into the cheap hotel at the train station (gresham) No other way about it I am afraid :p (I get the 5.20 am train to get back for work too )
Where you live in brum? or do you live in brum?

the Gresham! lol

the Gresham was literally right across the street from the rail station. Check-in was easy, and in fact, I'm pretty sure if I would have given a few extra quid, the woman working the desk would have accompanied me to the room, she was that "friendly" or shall I say, flirtatious. I think I paid 30 GBP for the room, and while it was ensuite, it was far from spotless. The bathroom was moldy, it had one OLD towel (perhaps pre-Industrial revolution?) and one of the ubiquitous all purpose shower lotions that are so common throughout Europe, and no wash cloth. The bed was old and hard, and the TV got all of 3 channels, not impressive.

21 of us stayed at this hotel on the 16june for my hen night. First impressions on walking in to the 'reception' area were that it wasnt too bad just smelt a bit. most staff cannot understand english and had made a mistake with the booking of the rooms......... upon being given the keys one room had not been cleaned, beds unmade, ashtray full etc. My mum found a pair of underpants in her room too. When you flush the toilet it smells and makes a shredding sound and the beds have plastic sheets underneath

on entering a room at the gresham you are greeted by sticky carpets and the smell of damp. after a night on the town there is nothing like a good fry up to set you up for the day. the gresham didn't dissapoint as it most certainly was nothing like a good fry up. with what appeared to be tuna enfused beans and an egg that had been kicked around the kitchen a few times you are better off sticking to the toast.

Hi Oli, I don't live in Birmingham, nor intend to stay in the Gresham. I'm not offering a lift either as I won't be travelling myself. I don't intend to waste a single penny doing so. But if you do, avoid the eggs.
 
Get the train, just leave at 21.20 and leg it back for last train.

that is what I do.
 
yes, yes, the gresham aint the best. But hey, with the money I spend in midweek the cheapest option will do me fine (I sleep there for less than 7 hours)
Havent met any friendly workers there though??? Normally have to wake them up in the morning to get my deposit back!
 
Seems we have very few fans in the wes midlands.

I'm based in Birmingham...I'm always annoyed theres not a later train, last season I missed a goal in the last 10 minutes because I had to run for the train!

Season ticket holder here from sutton coldfield. Close enough to Birmingham, but just far enough away not to be a true Brummie.

Would offer you a lift for the Sheff Ud game but working in Newcastle that week. Sorry mate.

I think there are quite a few Forest fans who live near Birmingham as I see loads of them when I drive up on Saturday afternoons.
 
I am studying near Coventry and can drop you off at Leamington Spa- not Birmingham but close(ish) - the trains from there run from late and take ~30 mins to Birmingham.

Cool, from harborne mate! Have I met you before?? Used to always bump into random forest fans in the academy after gigs and stuff here..

Hi Oli, where a bouts are you living in Bham? I'm in my 4th year at uni there and if your interested would be keen to go up for this game. Iv lectures till 5 next Tuesday and will be driving straight up to Nott'm following that if you fancy it? could meet in Selly Oak if you know it well?
