Nottingham Forest in Holland

Do you know here in Holland is a town called Dronrijp, where almost everyone is fan of Nottingham Forest. I am also from Dronrijp, I am a big fan. I hope they'll promote to Premier League. That will be a big party..

I've seen a picture posted somewhere showing more Forest merchandise in a Dutch airport than there is in the club shop.

Any idea why the fanbase is so large in Dronrijp?

My company has an office in the Netherlands (in Utrecht) and every time I go out there, if we go out of an evening for a couple of shandies, if I'm wearing a Forest shirt, it never ceases to amaze me how many Dutch people come up and comment positively on it.

Last time I went over there, we wandered in to a pub, me in the Garibaldi, and as I wandered up to the bar, the barman said (translation) "Ah! Forest! van Hooijdonk! Bryan Roy! Johnny Metgod!" (didn't have the heart to tell him he'd f****d off to the sheep!)

God, I love the Dutch.
