Not Bad Considering...

I really hate this feeling. The feeling of total dejection, of feeling like I've been holding on and holding on, hoping, wishing that someone will sign. Thinking, "It'll be fine, we'll do something".

The feeling I hate most though, is that I feel that I can't be bothered, and the annoyance and slight anger at pouring my money into a club that doesn't either want to give it back, or won't even give an explanation as to why they won't give it back. I think I'm going down Ilkeston Town next week !

have we any money? Our chairman has money however is it money for billy to spend?

can we really believe all is well at the City Ground,

Spot on Oracle, the way things are going at the moment they are giving me thoughts of wanting to walk away while the current bunch rip the soul out of this football club.

I feel deflated.

In a strange way Drebin, I'm glad It's not just me. I thought I was maybe being slightly melodramatic, but there's been nothing to get excited about, or get optimistic about with a new signing. Talk about false hope ! Me and a few mates at work take the mickey bliss out of an Everton fan at work, due to them never signing anyone......now who's laughing !

Were the only team in the division with money :D
On the other hand, not having spent anything means we're still the only team in the division with money and that can only strengthen our position come January when the next transfer window opens.

Yes!

We can make derisory bids for MORE players! lol

This is what makes me feel very very angry. Either things change dramatically and paying fans are treated with a great deal more respect, or my season ticket will not be renewed until the club is under new ownership...however long that may be.

I'll just make one thing straight. If ND or MA comes out and say's...

"Look, the club has had to tighten it's purse strings, we have invested heavily in the past 2 years with player investment of around £10million, we did try to sign players, but offered as much as we could justify for players in the last year of their contract, these offers were rejected, therefore we decided against making what would consider to be silly offers, and we will try again in January"

Then I would 100% accept that, be happy that we tried, and get behind the club & board 100%, unfortunately, I don't see that forthcoming.

You really ARE Mark Arthur, and I demand my £10!

Can we formally making this the 'Post ****-All Signings Positive Thread'? lol

The Permanent Signings Window is now shut and there's nothing anyone can do about it, other than whinge and moan, of course.

We can not allow this lack of activity dampen our spirits and cloud our performances and it's down to Billy and the lads to respond to the challenge and up their game.

Just as importantly, it's down to us the supporters as the heart of the club to unite in support and focus our energy behind the squad and proverbially push them up the league.

Where I totally understand and share the frustration and disappointment, we need to back Billy and the players and rebuild confidence levels.

A couple of inspired loan signings could well be enough to give us a boost ahead of the January window. There may well be method in all the madness.

I have no problem with Billy, with the players, with ND, MA, David Pleat, Eric Barnes, Sandy Anderson, Irving Scholar, Phil Soar, Grant Bovey, Pierre Van Hooijdonk, Ron Atkinson or anyone else.

I.....JUST.....WANT.....A.....REASON !

didnt doughty say that becuase we hadnt spent in january we would be able to take that into the summer and use that for the summer transfers?

so add what every was available in january to the fee from perch, the loans fees for garner and jules and wht we havent spent now and we will have one hell of a january window lol

Which year? ;)

good point, but Im sure he made a comment about it last season as it was discussed that we would have in the region of 5 million this summer

The thing is, we don't even know how transfer money is being distributed. For example, we could have sold Perch for £1.5million, but that could be -

£500,000 Upfront

£250,000 After 25 League Games

£250,000 To Pay @ £13,888 Over 18 Months

£250,000 To Pay Upon Premier League Survival

£250,000 To Pay Upon Qualification for European Football

Therefore, we will have only received £513,888 so far.

Maybe people are right.....maybe there is no money.....BUT LET US KNOW ! Communication is the main factor here, let us know, and we can support the club and get behind them. Keep us in the dark, and people will get annoyed, they will get dejected and they will question their support.

Not everyone. I for one will still support my club and none of my toys will be thrown out of my pram.

My words were "people", not everyone..... People (Plural) - A group of human beings.

My toys are not out of the pram, I would just like, after years of support, false dawns and broken promises, to know this time where the clubs loyalties lie....balancing books or being serious promotion contenders. I have no problem with either one of those, as long as I know, and If they wish me to continue contributing to the running costs of the football club (instead sitting at home listening to Radio Nottingham) then an explanation as to where the monies received from me and other fans is going.

to be honest, they've increased the season ticket prices, for what?

to pay for the club shop and them flat screens in the ticket office side of it

see this is the thing with me as well how the f*** do they justify upping the prices when A) were in a recession and B) we have weakened the side. I mean some would argue inflation I guess but I still think the club havent done anything to warrant a price hike especially a some of the seats (not my own I will admit) have had their prices hiked by silly amounts. Having 1 good season certainly doesnt warrant a price hike.

I guess the reason I am so pissed though if Im honest is because I have been here before last time with Paul Hart and before then when we sold Campbell and Pierre went on strike. All I want is for someone to take the initiative and build on a position of strength. I mean we can all say that Doughty has put £40-£50 million into the team and we must respect that fact and I do but surely it will not be beneficial to Doughty if he has put all that money in, we havent strengthened and then we start heading the other way again as it is just going to mean another 10 seasons of putting x amount in here and there to keep the club "ticking over". It just doesnt make sense to me but hell what do I know Im just a stupid paying customer!

weve got along way to go before we eclipse the events of 2003 and those that went before it after all we havent banned billy from picking our club captain to force him move to another club just yet.
