There is reports that Noel Whelan might be snapped up by Nottingham Forest.

Davies knows the player well and he has experience at Championship level.

Apparently a 100K bid has been received and Whelan is expected to arrive at the City Ground on monday to iron out a deal with Nigel Doughty and Mark Arthur.

Forest are set to complete the signing of Shaun Barker for £500,000. Both Derby and Forest had offers accepted, but Barker chose to move to Forest instead. The loan signing of Chris Gunter is complete, although Spurs may choose to delay the announcement until August.

Today, I've confirmed 100% Matthew Mills has joined Nottingham Forest on a 3 year deal for an initial £1.4mill rising to £2mill. Who ever said gunter to newcastle he has already said he is not intrested in a move to newcastle and has more less signed for Forest on Loan but they are trying to get him perm and if not this summer or jan will def be perm move next summer!
